and if you find the aforementioned culanda+varla stone combo too harsh, you could try merging the azure+amber vampiric lamps/lightposts/sconces in the same manner. it's closer to the 4000k shown here, but I've found that's slightly more consistent with the natural lighting you'll see in-game.
bit dimmer than the stones, though, might need to double up for full coverage. also it sometimes reflects oddly on particularly glossy dyes. ymmv, I guess.
I use the Clockwork Illuminator, Compact Stand for my Outfit Station and Clockwork Illuminator, Solitary Canister for all my bright lighting needs in housing. The latter works best when sunk into the floor or ceiling.
The clockwork illuminators aren't the nice looking lights but they create a great neutral and bright light. So I think they are the best for clothing areas.
I tested all the lights a while ago to find the brightest non-yellow light. The best eas the Solitude Lantern, Hanging (and there's a sconce and chandelier with the same output & lantern—but NOT the table lantern lol).
I hide them inside other lights and in walls all the time—they're less yellow than the little clockwork capsule lights.
