Why did you think ZOS nerf jewelry writs to oblivion and made jewelry grinding a bit easier? Naturally because of scribing. I am not testing PTS(thankfully, as it could mess up my account) but I am guessing there is a new scribing daily writ and master writ system that would provide the most writ vouchers. My guess only, highly likely that is not how it is.

You can't do scribing as daily writs, the resulting skills aren't items.

Seriously? You expected to get all the benefits of the new chapter without paying for it? :D

Just like to do antiquities you need to have Greymoor, to do Tales of Tribute you need High Isle (and antiquities are locked behind it), and to have arcanist/warden/necromancer you needed to buy their chapters in the first year also.

Scribing still needs a lot of working on, especially for balancing, or so I'm led to believe given that running an old account on the PTS I can't even progress the scribing tutorial as the quest giver I've been told to see doesn't appear despite his location being shown on the compass.

You need Gold Road for Scribing.

I’m pretty sure you also may not be able to collect Luminous Ink, the material for Scribing, without the chapter either. (hopefully someone can confirm)

heck yeah, you need to complete certain quests before they can start dropping on your character. so people not buying the chapter because of different reasons are punished.

Luminous Ink is a material is it tradeable? Anyone on PTS that can confirm if its bound or not?

You’ve always needed the chapter to use the related features (or ESO+ to use those of previous years without additional purchase). Why would scribing be any different?

Well.... there's two possibilities here. They could go the way they did with JC - where even if you didn't have the chapter, you could still mine the mats for selling to others.

Or - and I consider this the more likely scenario: any ink you acquire will be bound, like the mythic leads were bound.

I cant think of any material in game thats bound except for crown mimic stone.

I dont remember where I saw that luminous ink are a material but I saw it somewhere.

If its material and going into your craftbag it will probably be tradeable which is pretty cool!

The mythic leads are "bound" because they reside in your inventory. And the mythics themselves are bound....

Mythic leads arent a material? I saw on some youtube clip that luminous ink are a material as of now which I assume will end up in your craftbag when harvested just any other crafting material

No, that's true. I haven't seen anything addressing the status of "ink" though - but then I don't give "content" on yt the time of day. I'm generally quite happy to wait for real solid information.

I had to check and found the yt clip that are posted by NefasQS where he explains scribing, luminous ink are a material as of now, that are obtained by killing things or harvesting nodes and seems to be rare which means it would have good value. But its PTS so it can change.

As far as current pts behaviour go, I can confirm tha ink is marked as material and not marked as bound, I can also put it into attachment slot when creating mail (did not try to sent it to anyone tho).

But if you don’t have Gold Road, you can’t get Ink because it requires completing Gold Road quests to unlock the drop. One quest allows it to drop from monsters, another from materials.

If it were unbound, the only thing a player without Gold Road could do is flip it, not harvest it and sell it directly.

This is a big difference from Summerset’s jewelrycrafting, where anyone can get dust to sell.

It is in fact like Dragon Rheum, the farming of which is locked behind Southern Elsweyr dailies.

Its good News if the drop for luminous ink are locked behind quest, that means no bots hopefully

Thank you. That's "solid info" - unless things change on PTS, of course.
