Why is it so difficult to restore the actual things lost for the unfairly locked accounts?

Obviously, I am not developer, but it seems to be relatively straight forward the amount of things accounts acquire per day during this event. Add ten percent more for the inconvenience and you have a fair compensation. Instead they introduced endeavors as the primary compensation, threw in the jubilee mount and newest style pages which were still accessible to any locked account who cared about those trinkets and failed to restore tickets and and anniversary boxes which is what they are really being denied.

The loss of eso+ has been directly and adequately addressed in the statement. Why are the anniversary boxes and tickets so difficult to replace?

The tickets is probably because they are hardcoded to be maximum of 12.

Sending these over through may will probably pose new challenges and for one special occasion like this isn''t feasible to clutter your codebase with special exception (that will require testing with every update from then on) or roll out client and server side patches with possible downtime. And you can't quickly code something into a project as big as this without proper planning week(s) in advance.

The anniversary boxes isn't a fixed number of items and depends on game time. They can't know how much someone would miss and most have low value items. At least now we have some guaranteed compensation.

A couple of years back I had a problem where the game froze at the exact moment I bought something from the event ticket vendor and somehow that caused me to buy a useless duplicate, wasting tickets. I contacted support but they couldn't just give me the tickets because in the time it took them to get to my support request I'd gotten more event tickets so it would put me over the limit. I had to spend some, let them know and make sure not to get more until they refunded me.

I suspect it's the same here. They'd either have to contact each affected player to coordinate refunding them at a time they had space to receive them or create a new system to hold excess tickets, which would probably take a lot of time (and open up the risk of further exploits if it's not carefully tested), delaying resolving the matter for players.

I think extending the event is the solution there. Yes that applies to everyone but as it doesn't change the number of things available to buy with event tickets it will mainly benefit players who were forced to miss some days due to being locked out.

As for the anniversary boxes there's probably no sensible way to work out what each player should have gotten. Someone who was affected mentioned farming almost 2,000 boxes before being locked out, hundreds per day. Whereas other people have been doing something quick and easy to get just a few (I've been doing crafting writs on 1 character).

I suspect enough people were affected that it's not reasonable to calculate what each one would have earned and send them individual replacements, and sending everyone the same number makes it very likely some will have far more than they would have gotten and some will have far, far less.

Thanks for the insight. That makes some sense.
