Connecting keyboard.

Hi, does any of you have any experience with connecting a keyboard to a series x console ?
I do not wish to actually play with keyboard and mouse - but it is pretty tiresome writing text messages with the onboard keyboard.
I know it has to be connected vis USB.

There are some confusion on the internet, but I tried using my old Logitech MX Mechanical Mini keyboard, with the receiver plugged in to the back USB port on the Xbox console - and it worked instantly
I found two things to be important - first, the console has to be on when inserting the USB receiver - and two, the front USB port did not work with the receiver.
So now, I can finally reply to text messages via a wireless keyboard.1
