Should ZoS Change the Maintenance Hours?

For me, if the Maintenance schedule runs past 10:00 a.m., EST, I missed that day's login. I miss upgrading, riding speed, dailies, daily rewards, events, etc. due to work, getting ready for work, the drive back and forth to work, I just missed that day. Do you think the company should move the maintenance schedule hours back to 0200 or 0300?

It would be nice if ZOS would poll their customer's preferences on anything from time to time.

No matter what time they set the maintenance hours, someone will be affected. The current schedule takes out an entire evening of play time for me.

They probably base it around the availability of their staff and ensuring sociable working hours. I will happily have maintenance at a suboptimal time personally if it means they're making considerations for their team.

How does this sound for a solution? On days that Maintenance takes place, everybody gets their daily rewards regardless if they log in or not. The following day, if individuals did not increase their mount specs, they get to do it twice. This should take care of some of the frustrations of the current maintenance schedule. What do you think to that solution?

I'm not sure that's a factor considering maintenance normally starts at about 4am EST/EDT and ends around 9am.

Games typically do maintenance when the computer shows the load is lightest during the week. The least folks are on the, that's why they picked it.

You think you're inconvenienced? Poor Aussies getting screwed.

Ends at 0900? It's supposed to end at 1000. The last 5 months it has been beyond that time.

Please don't introduce this new level of code complexity to the game.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not letting some external party dictate my work hours are now shifting from normal business hours to graveyard shift. You know there are real people on the other side of this who would have to be working that maintenance right? Have some compassion.

No. The maint times are about as optimized as they can be, at least for the NA servers.

It's their job. Restaurant workers for example work on weekends too and they don't take 1 hour breaks to eat when the restaurant is completely overcrowded. Same with taxi drivers, customer service hotlines, bartenders, all the night shifts... Not everyone can work from 9 to 4 or 8 to 5 or 7 to 7 or whatever. Compassion has nothing to do with it. They provide a service, get paid for doing so, and they should be able to keep up the service, or people will just go somewhere else and probably never come back. It's always funny when the game breaks on weekends or primetime and some people act like it's normal that ZOS has noone on call and nothing can be done to fix anything until the "normal" day starts for everyone...

It will always be annoying/inconvenient for someone. The game is played worldwide.

I'm sure they chose the most optimal time. No matter what time is picked there will always be people who are inconvenienced.

They should take the server down for the entire day so everyone is equally inconvenienced.

(Not being serious, saying this in a sarcastic / "careful what you wish for" kinda way. Someone is always going to be inconvenienced by any maintenance).

There are ESO customers in every time zone, someone will always be more inconvenienced. Furthermore, the devs and techs working on the maintenance (whether hardware or software) deserve to do it in reasonable working conditions, and so the maintenance timeslots are most likely chosen with that in mind.

I only play late at night PDT so starting earlier cuts into my play time pretty severely. Like someone said, people from multiple time zones play. I often see people from Europe logging on just as I'm logging off for the night...

ZOS “customers” are in nearly every time zone. Are you suggesting that ZOS needs server farms and shift work employees so that nobody is inconvenienced? Don’t think that’s going to happen.
