How are points for trials and arenas calculated?

I know that for each boss some fixed points are rewarded from which some penalties due to deaths and for arenas for each sigil used is deduced).

What else is contributing to the points rewarded at the end of the trial/arena? It seems not entirely fixed and some other contributors are present.

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but killing adds used to count in your score, so skipping trash will lower it.

And I think there is some sort of speed bonus but I'm not sure how it would be calculated

The bonuses are quite well understood considering there's add-ons that will track your score for you as you go.

a lot of the score is time based, noticed this when i was doing a lot of vet vateshran runs

faster you kill bosses = more score

in general faster = more score

i think not using sigils is a per boss bonus (theres a flat bonus given if you use no sigils, and this bonus gets deducted from each time you use a sigil in that fight)

and you should have a bonus for no deaths (not sure if its got a vitality counter like trials, or if its a single bonus)

Scores vary based on these factors, note that the calculation varies by trial somewhat:

    1) The run time of the trial, each second (I think?) reduces your score by X amount.
    2) Hard mode. Each hard mode boss gives 40k extra score on top of the 15k score you get for finishing each boss on Veteran.
    3) Vitality accounts for 1000 score, so each death will drop the bonus from this by 1000. So if you finish with 22/36 vitality, you will gain additional 22k score from a max of 36k additional score.
    4) All trash in every trial gives you score for killing them, so not killing everything in the trial reduces your score.

Each trial also has a base score and a par time, which is a bit more complicated, but basically if you can be "faster" than the par time it affects your score. I believe code65536 had some calculation for this a few years ago that went something like this:

    Trial Score = (Base Score + Vitality x 1000) x [1 + (Par time - Your time)/10000] (times should be in seconds)

I would also check this thread from Feb 2018, as it gives a much better insight than anything I could hope to accomplish.

There also used to be a website called ESO Resources which had a program to calculate your score for you, but it looks like the domain is no longer active.
