Question about Anniversary Livestream

The Anniversary Livestream on Twitch is scheduled for 4/5 at 8 AM ET. That's a Friday, right in the real life "prime time" of when players in the Americas are getting up and going to work. Will there be re-broadcasts of the stream so players in the Western Hemisphere can get the rewards as well? And if so, when? Thanks in advance.

Why on Earth will you be streaming so early in the morning?
It's when the majority of players will be working/studying because it's a weekday!

If there's no re-run, many of us won't be able to get the Twitch drops.

Why? Cause they’ll be in Amsterdam. Ya know - time is different there.

Honestly it’s just the emote I’ll miss by watching the rebroadcast later, I am okay with that.

I suspect it is because the anniversary event is taking place in Europe, so it makes sense to do the live twitch feed during European day time, but I may be wrong.

There are other planned events for North America later in the year (or next year) so I guess you will have to wait ;)

There should be re-runs however, that seems only fair. That way everyone can participate in the celebrations!

You're missing the point. Working people can't watch it.

That seems to be the case with many streams lately. I understand it’s during ZOS’ work hours but it’s also during everyone elses work/school hours, leaving the people who can watch most of the streams basically just people who don’t have work/school that day or people who watch it when they shouldn’t be.

There’s no pleasing everyone because of timezones and schedules but I do understand the problem with doing American team streams during times that most Americans are unavailable.

I suspect they are simply live streaming events as they happen. Which will be during the European day time.

Easy enough to solve the issue by having catch ups where we can all have the same chance to gain the rewards by watching.

which was an incredibly arbitrary and poor choice of location. Why on earth would they do that?

NA Is getting their own celebration early next year.

"We’re planning to make this the biggest in-person community event we’ve ever had, but it’s not the only one we plan to host during this massive anniversary celebration. There’s going to be a ton of special 10th Anniversary in-person events all over the globe throughout, including a big one in the United States in 2025. "

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/65061

There will be additional celebrations in Australia, China, Sweden, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, The UK, and Japan.

Hosting a large celebration in the Netherlands is hardly arbitrary. It is a pinnacle city and often used for corporate events. It is considered a "party city" by many. Thus it makes an extremely good location for a large venue. Hotels are nearby, and other forms of entertainment are available, making it worthwhile to take a trip there for the ESO event.

The venue they are hosting at, Sugar Factory, is spacious and can accommodate a large audience. It's actually a really fun place- I've gone to several musical events there when visiting friends in the Netherlands. I wish I was going to this event, but sadly I can't at the moment.

So yeah. Not arbitrary at all. Actually a really good choice of location for an opening kick-off event.

Seems like a pretty easy solution would be to either rerun the stream, or just do it live again.
I mean: Whats the point of running an info stream once when 60+ % of the world won't be able to see it?

This is the popular misquote, but everyone knows it:

Just do a big offline event again?
Also I'm curious how did you calculate those 60%

I wasn't meaning to start a fight. I get why they're having the event in Amsterdam. I just wanted to ask "HEY, this stream is at a really bad time for NA players. Will there be a re-broadcast so NA players can get to watch and get the prizes too?"

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Pretty sure they always have "stream reruns" for the next few days after the live one.

Does ZOS want to reach the maximum number of people possible who would want to share in the hype, or just the ones who have free time at a specific time? If ZOS wasn't interested in attracting a bigger audience than just the people who wanted the info - they wouldn't include drops as an incentive for the live stream only.

1.) Broadcasting a 2nd live stream hours later rehashing everything that was shown in the '1st live stream' would allow many more people to watch it for the drops without having the restriction of watching a recorded event with no drops at a later time.
Conversely, why couldn't they make drops available to those who watched a rebroadcast of the 'only' stream later for the first time within the first 24 hours?

2.) The average person's day on this planet is generally comprised of 3 parts:
    a.) Working and/or school,
    b.) Sleeping,
c.) household chores, family time, and relaxation/recreation.

60% is a general approximation of the parts of the rest of the world that is comprised of players who are a.) at work/school and commuting to those 2, and/or b.) sleeping during the initial broadcast time.

It's really not that hard to figure that a lot of people around the planet who would like to participate in a company event that is designed to promote viewership and hype for the game are restricted by IRL commitments to things that can't be time-swapped. Anything else is expecting people with IRL time commitments to either skip it or have an inordinate amount of free time.

It reminds me of when someone from the east coast schedules a meeting for 7:30 because it is the "only time when everyone is available" and then gets angry when the west coast people refuse to attend.

I get that the live stream is from Europe, but by having the time be only semi-acceptable for east coasters, but too early for everyone else in the US is not a good look. If this was the 8th anniversary or 12th anniversary, it would hit differently.

I will be home and I am on the East Coast, but 8 is still far too early to be watching a stream, and I don't want to watch a dropless edited "recap". And for the people going wah wah shut up Americans, most Europeans will be working at 1-3 PM their time....

I'll be working, but I'm working from home and can afford to be a bit distracted while "code is compiling".

Still I'd say that while ZOS is limited with their choice of time, if they intend to rerun the stream with drops, they should have mentioned it.

Honestly can't remember how it usually goes, but I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be too fine of a detail for ZOS to think about.
