1) Would the damage mitigation be active in the archive? The set specifies trials, dungeons, or arenas. I would think the Archive should count as an arena, but I don’t know.
2) Does the strength of the five-piece bonus depend on the number of players in the group? Or do you always get the full benefit but which bonus it is depends on the percentage of the group still alive?

✭✭✭✭✭for 1: yes, it does work but only if you have another player (or companion) with you that is dead (it also works to provide the other player a buff too)
for 2: the dmg buff and dmg reduction are scaled based on number of players alive/dead
180 is the max dmg buff if all group is alive
66% dmg reduction is the max if all players are dead
in this case, if its a 2 player group, and 1 is alive and 1 is dead, then you get 50% of both of those bonuses (90 dmg and 33% dmg reduction)
another example is if you had a 4 player group, 1 is dead and 3 are alive, you will get 75% of the 180 dmg and 25% of the 66% dmg reduction
you will never attain 100% of the 66% dmg reduction because the entire group has to be dead, which at that point its useless lolplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

✭✭✭✭✭the other part of the question, about the bonuses that only work in trials, dungeons, and arenas (major/minor slayer, major/minor aegis) i am not 100% sure if those work in the archive, i honestly dont remember (if i did test it myself, it was months ago when the archive first came out lol)
