BUFF shattered fate

I think shattered fate is amazing, and is only missing a slight buff to improve survivability. I propose a 7pc bonus (then u can run it 7+5pc of another set)
This bonus would be a buff to HP, Stam, and Magicka, to make up for loss in stats you would get from other sets. with 3k HP, and 1500 stam and mag, you would have very competitive stats.

REASONS TO BUFF SHATTERED FATE

1. Accessibility. ZOS should be proud of their many efforts to make the game accessible to new players. This change could make this set a top choice for PVPers, and make end game content accessible.
2. Decrease frequency of "proc set" users and make PVP more varied. Right now you see a lot of players wearing similar proc sets. ESO has many sets to manage, but if crafted stat boosting sets are already the "best in slot" armor, then we will naturally see a decrease in "proc sets" and abuse of these sets in and outside of cyrodiil.
3. Encourage skill based play and focus on mechanics. With so many proc sets with varied requirements, often players may find themselves fighting in a unique style that is does not necessarily reflect the mechanics of the class. For example, Master Duel Wield is expected to be nerfed. Now, in live, we can see players spam rending slashes over and over, when that normally would not be their class spammable. With a Shattered Fate buff, we will see more variance of builds and playstyles. This will be more in tandem with Zenimax's slogan of "play how you want" since you will be able to be competitive and you will be able to develop a unique playstyle. Also, without nerfing the proc sets as they are, players will be welcome to develop their own wacky quirky builds as they like without fear of getting nerfed because people are abusing the sets.

Definitely doesn't need a buff and if anything, needs a slight nerf. Maybe -5% (7918 -> 7522 pen) to make room for new sets.

    Here's why.

When you plug 7918 penetration into the damage mitigation formula, the % damage increase coming out on the other end is actually quite substantial compared to other sets. You can't just go 7918 / 660 = 12% damage because it's much more than that when you factor in all the multiplicative sources of damage reduction that players have.

    Here's an example.

5000 Base Damage, Battle Spirit, 7 heavy, Undeath 50% health, 33k armor

    Wood Elf, Malacath, Lover
    5000 * 1.16 * (1-(50/100)) * (1-(7/100)) * (1-(15/100)) * (1-((33000-950-4489)/660)/100) = 1335.1437

Wood Elf, Malacath, Lover, Essence Thief
    5000 * 1.16 * 1.1 * (1-(50/100)) * (1-(7/100)) * (1-(15/100)) * (1-((33000-950-4489)/660)/100) = 1468.6581

Wood Elf, Malacath, Lover, 5 Shattered Fate
    5000 * 1.16 * (1-(50/100)) * (1-(7/100)) * (1-(15/100)) * (1-((33000-950-4489-7918)/660)/100) = 1610.1683

Essence Thief is exactly 10% more damage in this example (1468 / 1335 = 1.1)
    Shattered Fate is 20.6% more damage in this example (1610 / 1335 = 1.206)

The actual damage increase from Shattered Fate is not static and depends on enemy armor and other damage reduction.

    1. Buffing Shattered Fate isn’t going to make the game any more accessible than it already is. There are plenty of ways to get through endgame with overland and crafted gear if you’ve got the right build and skill.

    2. No, you won’t see a decrease in proc set usage. As a proc enjoyed myself, I can say that unless Shattered Fate allows you to do ten times the damage you’re normally doing, people aren’t giving up their Master’s Dual Wield.

    3. Skill-based play means something different to everyone, including proc set users. I genuinely fail to see how using a particular piece of gear means that I’m less skilled than any other PvP player. So buffing one crafted set won’t make PvP more ‘skillful’. It would just give people one more possible option.

I really don’t like proc sets and what they have done to the game, however I accept that they are here to stay, and that apparently most people like them.

I actually think shattered fate is in a good spot where it is at. It’s more stat dense than many sets. but as a PVPr who enjoys using stat sets rather than proc sets, I think we really need that little boost to be able to compete.

Combine Shattered Fate and Druid's Braid and you then have a nice set.

No I disagree. This is an offensive set. It's not meant to be a well rounded set.

Purely from a weighted set value efficiency perspective, the set is perfectly fine as is with the exact same math that makes up basic static stat sets like Hundings Rage, Spriggans, Crafty Alfiq, etc. This set category isn't very popular with standards for proc versions of them much higher.

The strength in this set, just like Crafty, is the fact that it's hyper focussed on 1 stat (first 5 pieces), of which happens to be the strongest damage stat in the game, but for good reason because it's volatile and doesn't improve healing, sustain, or base scaling. Because of this, any reduction or buffs to the set I can't see properly justified beyond subjective opinion.

The 5 and 10 piece bonus is worth the combined total of 2 static sets that have the normal 2, 3, 4, and 5 piece bonuses. The 12 piece bonus is worth the same as Leviathan's 5 piece bonus. This set is about as balanced as it can get.

    For better context:

    1-4 piece bonuses: 129 damage, 129 regen, 3% Crit, 1487 pen, 1487 armor, 1096 resource, 1206 HP.

5 piece static set multiplier is usually about 2.325 x. Examples:

    Hunding's 300 damage (2.325x), Leviathan's 6.98% Crit (2.325x), Spriggan's 3460 pen (2.326x), Crafty's 2550 mag (2.326x). You can look at about any set like these and they're all the same.

    Yeah pretty much.

Shattered Fate is the same as

(2 items) Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
(3 items) Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
(4 items) Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
(5 items) Adds 3457 Offensive Penetration

The density is 5.32 which is the same as Spinner's and Spriggan's.

    It's a solid 5pc pene stat stick

I'm the biggest procset lover this game has ever seen, and yet I have to use this set because it's too good.

Please nerf shattered so I can slot one more proc.

(joke, don't touch it, it's in a fine spot)

(edit : but the first sentence is 100% true)

(edit2 : one thing I love about this game is this forum's edit feature)

(edit3: but I need to remember to insert an empty line at the end otherwise the "edited by" is too close to the text)
