Is the cost always constant regardless the incoming damage?

So if I hit someone with jabs or bash, it'd actually cost a lot more resource to block than the attack itself?

    I believe so but everything in the game is bad and sad and a big mess that make it complicated.

    As far as I recall, you can only be charged for the block cost of up to four attacks per second. However. Using skills like jabs and rapid strikes is still a great way to maximize that cost which is why I still find my templar to be one of the best pressure builds I have.

    Rending slashes mixed with a light attack and a bash will do the same but it really burns away my stamina.

    Yep, why it's sometimes not a good idea to block certain attacks as the cost isn't worth it. Could also slot block cost reduction glyphs if the problem is enough of an issue you have to address it.
