Armor Rating not working??

I noticed that Med armor is not working right.

Did some testing on it.

With no armor on my rating is 0 and I found a bear for a control test
he hit for
375, 138, 352, 287, 352, 138,138, 215 death

Now with Armor on my rating is 1441, the same bear
He hit me for
375, 269, 219, 269, 106,106, 375, 269, death

It would be nice to have a Dev comment to see if this working as intended and maybe explain the mechanic of the armor rating

    oo very curious about this..

but i do notice a severe discrepancy in livability when moving from heavy to light armor. I do die a lot quicker in the light if i let monsters wail on me. i dont have the numbers though.

also, I am curious about this and if it is possible that the armor rating affects only heavy hits/skills the enemy does rather than normal attacks.

Which ones were crits, we need to eliminate those, then take the remaining and look at top and bottom range.

If we assume 375 is crit then.
    No armor 138 - 352?
    Armor 106 - 269?

We would NEED to know which ones were crits. Does your add-on tell you when a crit nails you? Because even the mid numbers on armored can be crits, so it doesn't prove or disprove what you are saying.... just need to tighten the data a little more.

that is a good point about the crit. the combat log does not say when it is a cirt on me only when I cirt.

However i would state that I was hit for 375 with and with out armor. Plus when u add all the damage together it seemed like the armor made no difference, I died just as fast, it took that same amount of hits to kill me.

Well, at least it that were to be true that would explain a lot of the poor NB survavility.

It's easier to test it if you do it with a yellow sparkling charging attack, because mobs have 3-4 different attacks which deal different damage.

I've noticed this issue as well. I found myself running around naked because in full plate, I end up getting killed in a couple hits.

Another interesting topic that I need to follow for properly tested results. 2 of my chars are running with medium armor and if there is no other benefit than bonuses for using that then I might as well run naked.

So did little bit of my own testing with mudcrab.
    --Armor (601)
    You were hit for 50
    You were hit for 33
    You were hit for 33
    You were hit for 50
    You were hit for 33
    You were hit for 33
    You were hit for 50
    --No Armor
    You were hit for 61
    You were hit for 41
    You were hit for 41
    You were hit for 61
    You were hit for 41
    You were hit for 41
    You were hit for 41

So it would seem armor has some effect. However I'm having Torug's Pact set armor which gives +100 so I would need to craft clean armor set and test again.

When my armor is decayed I notice a giant spike in physical damage taken. Maybe your addon is broken.

or perhaps the addon shows damage before reductions are applied

Add-on functionality might be cause however my tests show difference in damage taken with and without armor (so it is not only damage before reductions) but with some added variables. I would love to get resolution to this "bug"/myth for certain.

Like with previous "bug"/myth that exp gained is dependent on how fast or slow you skill the target which eventually became add-on issue and how it shows the exp.
