I wanted a arrow-slinging NB so chose Bosmer for the Bow passive.

Ok, I picked Bosmer because I really wanted to play a Bosmer and the Bow passive was really just a party bonus.

My advice...go Breton with resto-staff and play the NB as you would a Sorc. the only skill you really need is resto-staff healing and Siphoning... and off you go.

Forget about blades of all kinds and Shield.... forget about sneaking and being an assassin. assassin skills and blade skills work fine on single targets... get two and you are in trouble...get three and you are dead. I am talking about same level targets.

with the resto staff and the siphoning tree skills i can solo four targets with a little bit of running about.

forget also about blocking..as a ranged NB there is plenty of time to avoid most spell damage by just running out of the way. Okay...facing a melee fighter now and then you going to sit on your backside...who cares with all the healing available.
Health and magicka are your friends... since you not not need to sneak and seldom to block...stamina is not really required.

Sneaking? I played my NB up as dual weapon wielder and felt very silly indeed with every other class just running by me and flattening everything in their way. Now I do the same.

This is basically what I do. I run a Breton Bloodmage (siphon heavy) with a resto/resto for weapons, one skill bar specced for soloing (funnel health, Malefic wrath, Dark cloak, Mutagen, Healing Springs, Soul Siphon for my Ultimate ) and one specced for group mobs (everything the same except for Crippling Grasp where Malefic Wrath was and Veil of Blades as my Ultimate)

I love playing this character, it's the only one I seem to play consistently. I have rolled every class now, and this play style is my favorite. I love being a Bloodmage, and I like the passives the Breton has for magic-based characters. However, I can't speak on any other NB builds.

I went dunmer, mainly because of the dual wield bonus but dual wield is actually my secondary set. I primarily tank. I have played a DK, Sorcerer and Templar tank, until I finally settled on the NB tank since it brought the most fun for me. Honestly, don't worry too much about the passives and just make what will bring you the most fun. Trying to match up ideal races with classes and styles of play started to suck the fun out of the game so I ended up going with what I liked and haven't looked back since.
