A lot of new faces in BGs - NOT a bad thing, just...

..just wondering if something changed. ZOS, are you doing some testing with BG matchmaking and MMR? Poof like magic after the maintenance on WED, I'm not seeing just the same 20 or so people rotating through matches. There are a lot of new faces sprinkled in, 1000cp+, but low PVP ranking.

Anyone else seeing this? I'm on PS NA and play every day, same times.
Wondering if there's been some adjustment on how matchmaking occurs.

If something DID change, I'm all for it. Been a lot of fun, just seeing some fresh faces. Yes, some are outright getting blown up, and it's clear they are newer to the scene, but the whole play seems a little more exciting with new players sprinkled in among the vets on each team.

    lol sorry to hear that!

But yeah, it's weird - still experiencing a lot of new pvp'rs PS5
I'd love it if it was an expanded MMR range; hoping though that it's not something occuring due to low pop. (Meaning built in MMR range expansion that kicks in when there's not enough like MMR players on.

Here's a video showing the range of players I'm being mixed with. Again, not complaining, as I'm enjoying the new talent.

Seen in the video, in this BG, everything from a level 11, to 50

Sadly they will soon disappear after a few matches against the usual tryhards.

However I agree with your original post: some new people and a lot more variety for a change

I share the same concern on the disappearing piece.

The past couple of weeks has been awesome with the new players. (I'm not sure some of them would agree how 'awesome' their experiences were, but hopefully at least some of them will stick around and 'get more into it'.)

It does have me wondering tho, how's this impacting the sustainability piece. Meaning, great we have new/more players in BGs now, but with the beatings; will they now likely not want to stick around; and has the gap between vet and newbie become too far of a distance to close for these players.

Time will tell I guess; looking forward to the next few weeks!

I agree with every single word you wrote: let’s hope some people will actually stick around
