The current event has the production cost of 12 transmute gems for producing items.
When scrapping the items, you get 25 gems back. This essentially causes transmute infinitely duplicateable.

infinite resource generation like that is generally not intended by devs. I seriously doubt it, and people that exploit it will probably get reprimanded in some way. Zos has done that before.1
