Here, my companion taunted her up onto the rubble. I could not get up there (invisible wall), and spells are "Invalid Target".
I also got stuck underneath it once, and couldn't move while swimming and taking damage. I ended up losing my last thread because of it.

✭✭✭✭This seems like a bug, stay away from the rubble. In later stages it will disappear quickly.
To solve this, just get your companion to move out of there(Y+LMB or Y+RMB), and the boss will follow. Not 100% sure on those keys as I hardly ever move my companion, but one of them should work.0
