Thank you ZoS - From the once upset Console player!

First and foremost, thank you for this "closure" feeling on the update for consoles.

I began reading with disappointment, but then mid-way felt relief, happiness, and just all around in a better mood for today (in terms of how I felt towards ESO).

I have ordered my PC version today.

With the promotion going on, this is nothing but a win/win.

I am very happy with my previous thread "Cancelled Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition for console. 100$ of savings!"

Whether or not it helped get the update out sooner, does not matter to me. But I know with 2k views and over a 100 comments, ESO was at least aware that people were really wanting to know any information available.

This also makes me think that ESO for consoles will come out hand and hand with a bigger update to content, as since a lot of people will already be max level/leveling vet, the current content will be stale.

I think ZoS may have really thought this out, and worked hard with Sony/Microsoft to bridge the gap. I now also wonder, if some day we may see 1 server, to rule all 3 platforms???

Again, thank you ZoS, I may not be purchasing the 100$ collectors edition as previously stated, But I will at least get to play the game with out worry about being stuck on the PC.

I cant see why youd be happy. Six month delays turn into indefinite delays. Indefinite delays turn into cancelled projects. They basically admitted defeat on the port.

I can't really say this is acurate. While many titles have faced cancelation from delays, it was more that the publisher didnt want to wait any longer. On the other hand, there are just as many titles (as well as updates and expansions) that have been pushed that far back and been succesful. The land in which titles die is where the game is delayed before development has finished. This is one is , as far as Bethesda standards go, finished. Also, Bethesda/ZoS is one of the few studios that can delay a project for 6 months with little quarell when you concider the fact that they work on a title anywhere between 4-7 years (excluding New Vegas).

Why? Because to me, they still expect their console "port" (to me, feels like ESO more of a PC Port than a console one. I played early access, felt like it was made with controller in mind) to probably be a big market.

The extra 6 months, will get them some extra cash flow from those willing to do the promotion.

Ah, pessimism, it never gets old.

Two people go star watching on a cliffside.

One looks to the other and says, "Isn't it beautiful? I've never seen such a clear sky. The stars are really shining tonight!"

The second person looks over and says, "Meh, what's the point? The stars are all going to die out someday anyway. Everything dies, eventually, even stars."

The second person goes home and watches TV, secure in the belief that everything is rotten and doomed.
The first enjoys a night under the stars and a bottle of wine, pleased with the beauty of the universe.

Which one of them is the wiser?

    ?

    So isnt sarcasme.

i kinda agree with Ragnar and its not pessimism its realism. So actual release wus when,1 month from now??? pushed 6 months i mean 6 MONTHS so you gonna tell they didnt knew this 1 month ago (thats a money grab)

Realism==>3 trading guilds 500 members 2 of them only vets online coming people this last weekend 1/5 lol each guild had +- 100 people online on a weekend. 80% who plays/played this game is not interrested in these fan-boy/haters battle on these forum so they stay away not giving there feedback because of people like sarenia they think to be smart with there sarcasm.

now there's only to be seen how many people will cancel there pre order from console and how many from them actually wil start playing on PC/MAC and there's the hitch will it be even worth bringing it out in 6 months on console??? Maybe people will be settled on PC/MAC there's no need to go on Console. Im sorry but for people that only see the good in this you should look to the bigger picture

Gaming industry serious these days they do wut they want when they want and then give you a lil deal that you prob have no choise to accept lol

Ow yea so you dont bother post something like this. MY ENGLISH SUX

New Vegas was not a Bethesda production it was also more of an total conversion mod of Fallout 3 than an entirely new game.
On the other hand Oblivion was 4 month delayed, and yes it flopped hard :)
(ESO was funded with Oblivion sales)

Myself (this one) find the 6 month delay a bit of a shock, not the timetable but more of the late decision had this come 4 month ago I would not be surprised, think Christmas release was more of their original plan before Sony pushed.

I wonder if bad reviews and other issues might cause this, personally I'm very happy with ESO but not all are. an release in 6 months has some benefits, first they will get an larger console marked to sell to as it would probably be sold over 10 million more next gen consoles.
Second they can use the console sale campaign as an sort of reboot sales on pc, use the console beta servers for pc demo outside of the console beta.

The idea of canceling the game on console is simply insane, game would work well on consoles as controls and hardware, PS4/ One is easy to port to, TES is an very strong brand on consoles (skyrim sold twice as well on consoles even if using the 6 million pc sales figure)
An serious lack of MMO or any RPG on console, yes the only downside is that the competition might be harder in 6 months but don't have an overview.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

They probably thought of consoles then they designed the interface, however its not much unlike Daggerfall and Morrowind who was pure pc games (morrowind was later ported)
Unlike Oblivion FO3 and Skyrim the menu interface is obviously designed for mouse, however its trivial to change in an 100M project.
The quickslot and character interaction is the only thing who smells console in the game.

Destiny releases in September and Dragon Age Inquisition in October.

However I don't own a console so no idea how much hype Destiny has, haven't paid it much attention.

A fair amount. One thing we know is that it's the most expensive game ever made with a budget of 500m. That doesn't mean it will be good but damn.

This conclusion actually made me draw associations with why fire trucks are red. Here we go:

"Cause there's eight wheels on them and four people, and four plus eight is twelve, and twelve is a foot and a foot is a ruler, and Queen Elizabeth was a ruler, and Queen Elizabeth was also a ship, and the ship sails the sea and in the sea is fish and fish have fins, and the Finns fought the Russians and the Russians were red and that's why firetrucks are red."

It's as logical sound as your conclusion ;)

Destiny is pretty hyped as I understand but PS3==256 MB memory limit, this don't work well in an MMO with even decent graphic. (You could not play the original world of warcraft from 2004 on 360.)
probably solved by small battlegrounds in a persistent world. Even if its a good shooter its kind of another audience.
DA3, now with an second awesomebutton, even if an good game I expect something linear.

Overall good news :) Yes its probably calculated.

i am glad to see some people taking this news well, those of you who do are not need to calm down. I to am looking forward to console release BUT i rather have a 6 month push back and have them fix the nasty bugs that we suffer on pc before release. There is also the fact that they need to go through microsoft/Sony to issue any game updates, larger companies can usually get this done quickly but it is still a pain. Imagine if they had to have MSQA check 2-3 updates a week, it would take much longer to fix the game compared to it being pushed pack to be fixed pre-lainch. I know a lot of people will be claiming that you do not go through microsoft/Sony to update games ect, but i am speaking from first have knowlage you sadly DO have to deal with them.

Thing is - I think that when many potential console players play for a while on the PC they will make freinds, join guilds and generally get comfy. Then they won't want to move over to a new platform and lose all those associations. If a game is running fine for you on a PC then why would you risk moving your character to an unknown situation?

I wouldn't be too surprised if that happened.

OTOH, a six month delay would mean a November release. Just in time for the Christmas season when Xbox Ones and PS4s will be selling like crazy.
