Why does it take two minutes+ for the new launcher to finishing "Loading" every day?

What is ZOS loading onto my computer for two minutes every time I open the launcher? A check for new updates couldn't take as long as two minutes or more. I'm on a fiber internet service with around 1G up and download speed, so this isn't bandwidth.
Is there an explanation anywhere why something that took no time at all on the old launcher now takes so long? Every minute in the morning counts for me. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

✭✭✭✭✭I think "Loading" is analogous to "Getting ready" in this context. Why it takes so long as anyone's guess, though. They could be reading all of the installed game files and comparing them to a list of what should be there, for all anyone knows. That list may come from the internet, too.0 -

the current launcher opens nearly instantly for me with hardly any processing so why switch? lolplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

BoloBoffin✭✭✭✭✭Well, it's another mystery. The maintenance today has the launcher loading in some updates. But the button while the updates are downloading does not say "Loading," it says "Pause."
The "Loading" state has no progress meter like the "Pause" state, even though the "Pause" state is clearing loading something at least. And now while the launch is paused waiting for the maintenance to end, the button says "Play."
I am a old of very little remaining brain, so perhaps this is not confusing to other people. But it is to me.Been there, got the Molag Bal polymorph.0
