Stutter as you play longer

Running Macbook Pro M1, I noticed that as I enter Maelstrom and certain areas the frames spike up and down pretty bad. Anyone have a fix for this? I am playing Windowed, but it also happens when I switch to Full Screen. Have not tried an external monitor yet.
