The coolest Arcanist's feature is... not working?

Hey guys.
I remember when Arcanist was announced and we got first videos showcasing a few skills of the class.
Not gonna lie, the one I was the most hyped about was Apocryphal Gate - creating a portal so you can get faster and safer to your destination.
Sadly, the skill in the game is far away from the one I saw in the trailers. Here's why:

In this video you can see an Arcanist teleporting "up", another class would need to jump their way there.

Here you can see an Arcanist teleporting across lava.
All cool, good to have a skill working like that, right?
Nope.

As you can see, you can jump across a gap but can't place an Arcanist's portal there. It's just sad.
I'm curious if I'm the only one who cares about that since most people are just focused on how OP Arcanist is in pve and pvp and don't care about stuff like that. Or maybe there's another fellow roleplayer

It was absolutely one ofthe things that hyped me up the most for arcanist, but it would be absolutely broken in PvP where they have enough issues with people getting places the shouldn't

In fact, that's all most people talked about for weeks (on the Cyro US servers) when it was announced.

Isn't it still broken in pvp? I saw videos of the Gate sending people udner the map or something.

They completely botched the skill because they were worried about certain hyper-specific use cases.

Now the skill hardly works in any use case, and will likely never get touched again.

Yeah they botched the skill completely. Fleet Footed Gate cant even be used as a Speedskill because the Expeditionbuff is shorter than the cooldown. So back to Rapid Maneuver it is...
The other Morph has a way too short lifespan to be manageable in group environments. Its nothing like a Warlockgate in WoW, which lasts for a Minute so it can be set up strategically.
Oh, and the Cool Animation isnt even there like in the Video. Its just a green hole (no offense Rick....)
