Hand to Hand or Fist based weapons class or skill

I think ESO is missing a good hand to hand skill or fist based weapon class. Like with the Psijic Guantlets, a weapon skill based on hand weapons would be pretty good. Likewise their could be a class that fires Spells using gauntlets or gloves. You could have weapons like a gauntlet firing spells and curses and attacks or even have gloves as a new weapon that allows you to do hand to hand moves or skills like a Monk class or Brawler class. Sorry if this post is a mess but it hit me that ESO doesn't have any good Hand to hand or fist based skill, weapons or classes. What do people think?

This has been requested for years, BUT there are chances that ZOS, seeing people requesting H2H / Unarmed, Polearms, Crossbows, etc., they may add those in some patch or chapter.

They already have unarmed NPC fighters, so shouldn't think it would be difficult to add such a 'weapon' skill line.

Won't happen this year based on what's already announced, as much as I want new weapons like 1h + magic or unarmed, I doubt it would be in 2025 either. My guess is 2026 as the "weapons" update.

Seeing as we recently got a class, I'm thinking they'll go back to the 2 year structure they used for Necromancer/Warden. The 4 year gap between Necro and Arcanist was way too long and I think the general support for chapters in 2023 and 2024 was much higher than previous years so they should want to capitalize on that.

I hope from here on out, they leave new mechanics like Companions, Tales of Tribute, and Excavation to quarter 4 like Infinite Archive. It's a good opportunity to take a more risky approach to content like that. Probably why this year they're doing a new pvp update in that section of the year.

Side note if an entire skill line for unnamed isn't worth developing, a good alternative would be a suggestion I thought up back when Mythics were announced. Basically, a ring or glove that provides enough buffs when not holding a main and off hand weapon to match what a real weapon gives, while providing something extra to make losing those 3 item slots worth it. Ring or glove because if you make it a main hand weapon it only works on 1 bar meaning you'd have to still use a weapon on the back or become a 1 bar build..
    • 1335 Weapon/Spell Damage = Replicates gold main hand weapon.
    • Deal x fire damage to your target every 4 seconds = Replicate enchant.
    • x% Weapon/Spell Critical Chance = Replicate Precise trait.
    • x Offensive Penetration = Replicate Perfected 1 piece stat line and weapon passives.
    • Insert unique effect 1 = Replicate a 2 piece set bonus... something like giving major vitality and major berserk when you light attack an enemy for 4 seconds.
    • Insert unique effect 2 = Replicate Mythic set bonus.. an idea I had was a mini gap closer on every light attack you do, eg. 7m distance, much shorter than the 22m gap closer standard, just helps you stay on top of your enemies when fighting in melee range.

I think it would be a fun, but niche Mythic which is ultimately what I think Mythics should be used for. They've done a good job with things like Velothi, Oakensoul, Stormweaver's Cavort, Dov-Rha Sabatons, and Pale Order in terms of really mixing up how you think about your build.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Here's my idea for an Unarmed system:

I would call the weapons "Cuffs" and they would occupy 2 weapon slots. The appearance of the Cuffs would override your equipped armor style on the hands, but you should have the option to hide them so that your armor style would appear instead. There would be a skill line with 5 skills and an ultimate. They must occupy 2 slots in order to override the armor style and have a skill line dedicated to them.

Yeah that would be ideal instead of a mythic, but whatever is worth their development time I'd take.

For the weapon, you can just make the cuffs 2 handed which makes it automatically count as 2 slots for equipment set bonuses, traits, etc. You don't really need the stipulation about occupying 2 slots to override the armor style and get access to the skill line. It would be the same as equipping a staff, bow, or 2h.

I loved hand-to-hand in other Elder Scrolls games, (and fist monk in D&D) would definitely give it a try in ESO as well.

I’d love an unarmed fighting line!

It would need a classic footsweep to knock those big tanky DKs on their backs. 😁

Have also thinking about how to do this:

Make an mythic amulet which blocks you from using weapons and gives you around 2k spell and weapon damage/ 100% status effect change/1.5k pen and 1200 crit chance/ 5% healing done. While on your frontbar it lets your left ring slot count as three set items and while on your backbar it lets your right ring slot count as three items. Fitting to that you should receive a glow around the fist which is currently ampified.
