They mean for the group finder, so you can specifically look for other players interested in a slower run to appreciate the story.https://massivelyop.com/2024/01/18/elder-scrolls-onlines-gold-road-chapter-takes-players-back-to-oblivions-best-city-on-june-3/
Lambert says storymode for dungeons is “really hard because it’s essentially a third difficulty mode”; it’s on the list but probably isn’t happening any time soon.
You don't say!?You could do this using the text box - that allows you to write in any extra conditions, requirements etc. you have.
Oh wow I didn't even realize this had come up so recently or that they were well aware of the desire/demand for being able to re-run the story inside a dungeon. That would be a great thing to have for sure, and maybe not as difficult to implement as they are making it out to be if they used some of the clever ways people have suggested to do it.https://massivelyop.com/2024/01/18/elder-scrolls-onlines-gold-road-chapter-takes-players-back-to-oblivions-best-city-on-june-3/

Agreed with this, a +three companions queue is needed. This will allow everyone to go at their own pace in dungeons.Darkstorne wrote: »They mean for the group finder, so you can specifically look for other players interested in a slower run to appreciate the story.https://massivelyop.com/2024/01/18/elder-scrolls-onlines-gold-road-chapter-takes-players-back-to-oblivions-best-city-on-june-3/

I still believe the easiest solution for ZOS here is to allow us to bring 3 Companions with us into group content like dungeons. Tweak the few dungeons that have soft-locks currently because they require multiple players for puzzles etc, but that's FAR less work than retuning all past and future dungeons with yet another difficulty setting. Normal dungeons are already pretty easy with a full group, and Companions deal better DPS than some of the players you can be grouped with. Plus, you can guarantee there won't be a fake tank or healer in your team
This also provides a solid gameplay incentive to level and gear up multiple companions rather than sticking with one. Final Fantasy 14 allows you to play through their group dungeons with a team of NPCs instead, and it's an incredibly popular system.

Because even a story mode isn't a story mode. Because how would it work, would all dialog be spoken before a player can move on? How would this work with different languages, and how would it work for players who read/listen slower or faster than others? And how would it work if someone would want to repeat the dialog before moving on?
The only way to make the dungeonfinder truly for everyone and everyone's pace, is by having a +three companions queue.
Yep! I frequently run PUG groups for my daily, for set grinding, and for vet challenges, usually either healing or tanking, but I'd love my first run of every new dungeon to be with three Companions. Just like in FF14, it means I'd get a chill pace, get to read the dialogue, understand the story, and admire the environment design. PUGs are always such a sprint I legit don't even like doing them with stamina characters these days. Keeping up with my team burns my primary resourceMashmalloMan wrote: »As much as I don't really like the chapter from 2021 being focused on companions and how barebones they feel in terms of combat, sets, and customization...
They're here, they're not going anywhere, and they're kinda fun for RP purposes. It would be super cool to run a dungeon with 3 of my own customizable companions instead of 1. I would treat it kinda like a pokemon mode.. or to be more topical, Palworld. See if I can beat a dungeon with 3 of my own decked out companions human trafficking style lol.
