Rending Slashes as a Spammable?

When did this become a thing and why does it work so well? I've encountered StamSorcs and Wardens just charging people into the ground, recaps filled with Rending Slashes.

Master's DW: Twin Slashes deals 1635 more damage for each hit of the initial attack and bleed.

That means the initial damage of the ability is increased by 3270 damage (quite a lot), as there are 2 initial hits. It effectively turns the ability into a true spammable.

I quite like the idea of the set especially for Sorcs because they have the tightest bar space in the game so it gives them a much needed dot to proc Surge all the while including an instant melee spammable they literally can't get anywhere else unless you play Sword + Board.

I know people have complaints because pvp has become stale with apparently everyone using Vat Frost Staff + Master DW + Dragon's Appetite. I haven't played since U35 really so I can't comment on that, but I hope they don't nerf it into oblivion.

Vat Staff just seems overall busted, especially since it's attached to Ele Sus. A must have skill at this point. So I'd like to see those 2 things tuned.

Dragon's Appetite has been the same for years, I know because I used it frequently on my dot heavy builds with Maelstrom 2H before most people even knew what it was so I'm surprised to see it become meta when it wasn't before. I suspect it's to juice out all the ticks from Ele Sus and Twin Slashes.. but honestly, tick frequency was so much higher back when I was using it so I don't see it as a huge problem overall if it wasn't back then. I think this comes down to Vat Staff + Ele Sus and the fact that Draugrkin's Grip was nerfed. That or people just love to copy/paste each other's builds, idk. Both are probably true.

Since most dots are crap now, but last forever, I could see how Dragon's Appetite could bring them back to the previous status quo they remember.

For Master's DW, the upfront damage bonus is perfectly fine and what gives it the unique effect of changing it into a spammable for a 2 for 1 skill so if they're gonna nerf anything, they should just cut the dot tick bonus in half. Something like "Increases the damage Twin Slashes deals by 1635 more damage for each hit of the initial attack and 817 more damage for the bleed."

    That's my 2 cents.

Well, they reworked the skill a few patch ago and it now gives some decent effects along with the double damage and bleed like before. It gives hemorrhaging which is yet another dot PLUS hemmorrhaging applies minor mangle which means for a few seconds your target has 10% less max hp, effectively 'unhealable' damage. And like CameraBeard pointed out it's basically the only decent skillbased dot in the game anymore *IF* you are running master's dual wield.

There's also the little trick that people have started to lean into: More sources of damage > Bigger damage tooltips. If you can stack many many small attacks that don't require huge investments in damage then it means you just build into tankiness or sustain or even a different damage buff like crit and pen and still hit plenty hard. This is especially good against dks that use corrosive since you completely bypass the defensive portion of the skill. On my warden I like to use deep fissue and follow up with a medium or heavy dual wield and rending which then also procs both of my enchants for a whole lot of numbers popping up over heads all at once! <3

Master DW + Way of fire or something similar, combo that require little to zero skill.
It's what ESO PvP has become, people cheesing their way all the time.
