"Fear" is the most [snip] skill in the entire game. If your goal was to make ball groups untouchable, then this is the skill that made it more than possible. It is IMPOSSIBLE to break free in time before you get dropped in a second! It's too twitchy of a cc, and it's extremely frustrating in PvP! PLEASE REMOVE IT!! It serves no purpose, replace it with something else that doesn't cause mass hysteria, forcing everyone to stand there and howl like idiots while getting pummeled! It's THE WORST SKILL in PvP BY FAR!!

✭If you’re in the middle of a ball group, you’re getting dropped whether you get hit with cc or not. And if it isn’t fear, it’s Streak, Fossilize/Shattering Rocks, Arcanist Rune, Templar Spear, Warden freeze, or Leap. You’re going to get stunned somehow, might as well learn to live with it.4 -
jerj6925✭✭✭✭Cc is such a cop out function in these games, it really shows a lack of creativity by the developers. Then combat boils down to who CC first or can break free first that boils down to who has a better ping time.
The ultimate CC in this game comes from groups mass spaming dark convergence and creating so much lag you actually get CC by momentarily breaking the game. Even with the ability where you should instantly break free if CC'd some how they still managed to use dark convergence then hit me brawler multiple times and an ultimate instantly... before my free instant break free happens..

I don’t use cc because I find the idea of pummeling somebody to death who’s frozen in place pathetic and boring.

I experienced the hilarious fight today myself, fighting another dk who's tankier than me but has weaker attack. We tried to kill each other for maybe 30 seconds until I gave up that flag. There was no way to kill him/her without 3 persons plus hard CC, and he's back a few seconds later!1 -

Without CC, this game's PvP would die. Period. Those hard to kill enemies that everyone laments about? Those nigh unkillable groups? Without CC Those players would literally never die. The only time you're killing a coordinated group is with a well timed CC.9 -

You have to learn how to avoid being sucked into the damage stack (lag permitting). You need battlefield awareness to see when an organized group is barreling towards you, but then you have to hold block and move away so that you don't get pulled & CC'ed. And if you do get pulled, break free immediately (Slippery helps), pray that an ally with only 20k health didn't get stacked with you, and hold block and move away from the stack. Some groups have better timing than others so that also makes a difference. And sometimes you just get smashed by a really well-timed bomb. Rez and try again, dying in pvp happens to everyone.

And this, is eso pvp in a nutshell. Tanky tanks trying to outnumber each other/zerg. Le sigh
I suppose this is why the increase in Ubertanky beamspamming templars. Nothing else is doing much damage (excepting merciless or corrosive), so may as well spam that RO til someone drops below 40% health, just keep spamming, just keep spamming.,.0 -

✭CC is literally a core combat aspect of any MMO. If you want a combat game with no stuns whatsoever, you’re going to have a rough time. Just learn to break free and block/dodge roll. If you get got by lag, then that’s a different (and more valid) issue. But saying that we need to get rid of CC in the game is a really poor take, especially when, as some pointed out, it’s the best way to kill a lot of those tanky players.2 -
SandandStars✭✭✭✭✭yeh, it’s lag & cc bugs that are frustrating. Colorless pool, for example, often freezes me for a solid 5 seconds, regardless of having plenty of stamina, & knowing how to break free.
also happens frequently with javelin & werewolf’s fear.
it’s broken enough that it is a consistent factor in the bgs I play in.
Isn’t it widely known & accepted that colorless pool is broken?2
