Order-Etched Gallery Rail?

Is there a bug on the drop of this lead?

I've been farming it for about 30 hours now in total. I've seen it drop for 2 friends within minutes (they joined me on this ridiculous grind to help ease the monotony). I know some leads will take a while, and that RNG is awful - but this feels somewhat beyond what is reasonable. Am I wasting my time just toughing through out of sheer stubbornness or am I gonna burn out and quit the game again before getting it to do the content I want to use it for?

This does not feel like good game design at all.

I remember this one generated a lot of complaints back then when it was introduced. I do not know if they upped the drop chance since then, but for me it also was not a fun experience. At least now you do not need to compete with other players in a tiny dungeon with very few mobs.

Yeah it's a really puzzling choice for a lead like this. Making high level players camp a newbie dungeon cannot have been fully thought through and yet it's just one example and they add new ones with every expansion.

They managed to launch a game that didn't have much problematic camping at all then added this whole entire key feature based on camping.

No, not a bug. Since your friends got it and you didn’t, there must be some kind of reverse curation going on. Perhaps AI camping detection?

No. Not a bug. Just really bad luck. Bad and good luck will always happen to some user in an RNG system, unfortunately it looks like you drew the short end of the stick. I recommend going back to it at a later date. Also double check you don't already have it and just weren't notified, because that happens sometimes.

Oh don't worry. I check my leads every few laps of the dungeon.

Is it the one from Bad Man Hallows? If so, there's been a lot of complains about the drop rate, especially when it first came out. I farmed it in a group, because even if you're not very close when your groupmates kill a mob you can still loot, whereas if you're solo you have to get a hit on the mob to loot, but yeah I remembering it taking a lot of hours.

If this is the one that drops in Bad Man's Hallows, I've only managed to get it when nobody else has been there. First time I went as a part of a guild group and we were there for hours and only half of us got it. I went back early hours of the morning and it dropped straight away. The other 2 times I went early and late when it was deserted and didn't take long either time. RNG is RNG but I do think it's spread over the current population of the delve, and leads in general seem to drop better for me at quiet times.

I know my experiences are too few to count for much statistically but I'm gonna keep doing it regardless! :D

I’m a euro player on the US servers. I’ve been farming it when the dungeon is empty in what would be the small hours for US folks.

Somewhere north of 40 hours now. I lost count.

bad man hollow is barely a public dungeon at all, too small/too few mobs there lol, even the forgotten crypts is bigger and has more mobs lol

and yet there are 2 leads there, one from bosses and one from trash mobs

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

It seems that RNG is better when you have no active leads except the free green ones.

It has been multiple times that a lead wouldn't drop for someone, he'd complain on the forums and I gave him this tipp. He would then excavate all open leads and start farming again, only to have it drop within a couple of tries. Depending on what kind of lead it is, of course.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

Three. Chest density is insane in there so it’s the best place to farm the kings coffer or whatever it’s called, too.

that has nothing to do with lead drop chance

because of the archive i now regularly have like 30 leads that are available to be scryed, which i dont care about doing since i already dug them all up 3x

still keep getting other lead drops too, some of which i also dont do because i have the codex entries lol

at one point i have had upwards 50 scryable leads and i could still get other leads i actually was intentionally farming for without too much difficulty

the only leads ill bother digging up after i finish their codex is the lancers and motifs
