level cap and vet ranks

So I just hit veteran rank 1 today (WHOOT).

This got me thinking. What happens to veteran ranks if and when level cap is raised?

Do the veteran ranks keep increasing or do we go back to 51..52...53..etc to new level cap?

They keep increasing I believe! When the new adventure zone come out it will go up to Vet 12.

Welcome to the Veteran club !!!
Sad to say but you have only done 30% of the game and now you need to adjust your spec and playstyle to match the heroic version of the lowby zones from the other factions.

Hope you can get trough it as many others have failed to reach the V10 cap before rage quiting.

Pro tip - do all Dolmans / Public Dungeons / World bosses / Main Quests / or you end up running dry real fast...and you come short on exp to gain a level.
Dont bother mob farming ! after 6 hours your exp barely moved up.

Try doing some pvp if you dig it to break the mindless questing that can get to your head and makes you "ugh i dont want to log in anymore and do quest syndrome"

Try to enjoy the 'ride" i mean grind to V10 :disappointed:

i made it to VR2 before i found the grind incredibly grindy - so i thought i'd do some pvp to break up to monotomy

only to be confronted by VR10 vampires steamrolling through an entire 40 man zerg group solo

    fun!

i honestly dont understand how so many people hit VR10 without using exploits - or how those who hit VR10 using exploits, weren't rolled back and were allowed to abuse the system and get away with it.

the grind to VR10 through quests is painful, breaking the monotony by pvp'ing turned out to be more painful.

XP for VR ranks needs addressing
    VR10 exploiters need rolling back
    vampires need fixing

i also need sleep - have missed a lot recently ;)

Thanks. I finally was able to beat malog bal. I had to learn to heal...I hate being a healer. I forget to watch my health.

Anyway, yes, I do pvp, main reason I came to play eso.

I do however find it very concerning that vampires seem to be able to steamroll anyone. I don't want to morph or do any of that stuff. But when one v10 vampires can wipe 8 normal v1 to v5's it really makes you wonder what direction pvo is headed.

Hopefully I will be able to figure out a way to beat them.

Vampires had a huge nerf and the 1 vamp wiping 50 people seems fixed :)
We had those in Aurials Bow EU but since the fix we wiped the floor with DC / EP and took our scrolls back and give them a big finger now they cant abuse bugs anymore ;)
Seems AD is back on the throne !

I stopped leveling in pve, if i would continue i would have quited.
Way to shallow and dull to do hours worth of mindless quest trough lowby zones scaled up in HP and Damage.

Lazy game design and i still stand that level 50 should have been the end when you defeat the big threat to Tamriel, not saving a zone from a few wolfs and skeletons.

Dunno if this game is going to make it, i gues many people think likewise and quit this mmo due to these lazy veteran design.
There is also a super post up at Sub reddit who had 800 upvotes in 4 hours and got deleted ;)
He posted again and its already back up to 400 upvotes !
Its a good read and summary about a V10 and the flaws of this game.

I hope this is just growing pains.

The only other MMO i have played was LOTRO (5 years). I enjoy ESO, and i don't mind the veteran levels. I look at things a bit differently.
    1. They could have just stopped at level 50. Than what would everyone have done? I like the fact I can play the other alliances with my veteran and experience the whole game.
    2. PVP i feel is a work in progress. If you take out the lack of balance, functionally, from an operating standpoint, it is probably the only area without major bugs. I think that is why they haven't planned any updates for it yet.
    3. Since I work during the week, and I am a more casual player. (I do play every day though) I don't want to get too involved. So I don't mind the mindless questing.

I am going to give it time. I like the style of game play and enjoy the freedom with the toons.

i actually did some more VR2 levelling in deshaan last night, it was ok actually - i wasn't trying to force myself through the content but there is a few issues that bug me, that all relate to the "play how you want to play" aspect.

i want to be able to try out other weapons, skillines and builds as i progress through veteran content.

    however:
    1. the mobs don't allow it, as i'd be torn to pieces, some abilities just hit far too hard - yes, some are blockable/interruptable and with the build i've been using since about level 15 i do ok - but i feel as though my ability to experiement is very limited. i'd expect much harder mobs in veteran dungeons/delves, but trash mobs on a quest are slightly overtuned imo. more health is fine, but some of them hit damn hard.
    2. the gear drops dont allow it, because i can't find enough decent gear or upgrade materials to put together a set of gear capable of withstanding the beatings i would take whilst learning how to use a different build. i've got a nice set of gear i crafted myself at the moment, but in order to expand into another armor tree - i need A: more skillpoints and B: more armor of that type to wear. i could wear one piece of light armor to skill it up, but with the next point considered, it'll take ages. when i hit VR3, i'll likely need to get crafting upgrades again - with very few mats to hand. (i guess we can thank the bots for this, as the possibility of farming public dungeon boss mobs for blue items has now been removed. leaving blue drops very light on the ground)
    3. XP in veteran areas is only gained from quests - which means levelling up a new weapon/armor skillset is incredibly slow. i had to go back to coldharbour and cycle repeatedly through a lvl50 public dungeon grinding mobs with just a staff weapon (with 1 active ability) in order to level the skill in a decent timeframe. i managed from 12-17 in about an hour before i got bored and went elsewhere.

so yea, i kinda feel like the trash mobs in veteran areas need to be tuned down a little - not huge amounts - i'm not calling for major nerf battage - but i would like to be able to continue experimenting whilst i level without feeling like any change to my current build will result in unneccesary open world deaths. otherwise, whats the point in all the extra skill points?

i think there's 3 options to make VR levelling more rewarding/less grindy.
increase XP gains - but leave the mobs and loot the same.
nerf the trash mobs - but leave the xp and loot unchanged.
boost the loot drops - keeping the mobs and xp the same.

my other option is to equip as much "increased exploration experience gain" armor as i can and run around every zone, discovering everything - then go back and do the quests, but even then, i'm not entirely sure you get exploration xp in veteran content. if you do, i can't say i've noticed.
