Some Add-ons not working due to "dependency" tag but all dependencies are installed

When I check the Add-ons at the character select screen, they look okay (just a lot of them say out of date). When I select a character and check Add-ons after character loads, half the Add-ons are red (not working) due to a "Dependency" tag but all dependencies are installed (Minion). I can't figure out why they look alright at character select screen but not when I'm on the character (all characters).

The version of the dependencies are relevant too.
If you have updated them all then it might be that your anti virus tools are blocking the folder access to your users documents elder scrolls online folder.

Try to whitelist/allow it there so ESO can access your live/AddOnSettings.txt file properly

I checked Windows security and ESO is an allowed app. Wouldn't know of anywhere else to look.
I looked at versions shown under the add-ons that are red and they don't match up with what's in Minion.
It's like the game before I log into a character is looking at a different location for add-ons than the one used with an active character.
Add-ons are saved in my User folder under Documents, which I think is the default, but I have backups in other places because I've changed computers and moved drives around. Could it be looking in 2 different places? I don't know any way to tell ESO where they are other than the location in Minion.

No. ESO looks in exactly one place for the addon files. There is no configuration, and no variation in many years. It asks Windows where the "documents" folder is, then looks in the specific path under that. So, this could only be your answer if minion (or the human) are updating the wrong place, not ESO.

Take a screenshot ingame and look at the folder shown there. 1 folder above of "Screenshots" is the live folder where the "AddOns" folder should be located. Check if that matches your folder where you updated the dependencies, or if it's another.

Caveat: this will only work if you're using the game itself to take the screenshots. If you're playing on PC and taking a screenshot using Steam, the screenshots end up in an entirely different location.

Oh yeah, I meant use the screenshot key of ESO controls. Thanks for the addition

I don't use Steam for ESO.
I took a screenshot of my file folder list and the add-ons are a few folders up from Pictures/Screenshots in the Documents folder

I've checked dependencies and none are missing, so it shouldn't be showing that unless ESO is going to a different folder than Minion and Minion is set up for the Documents folder as well.

I meant take a screenshot via the explicit ESO screenshot key ingame at the world. Not a screenshot of your addons :-)

Thst screenshot ingame tells you, at the top right screen edge, the path that ESO thinks your Screenshots are saved in, and 1 folder above should be the /AddOns folder then where ESO searches for your addons. If this is different from where Minion is setup to you need to charge minions path accordingly to the one Eso really searches in.

Sometimes this could be users/appdata e.g.

And disable One drive user documents folder backup in OneDrive settings as it's known to block access to the folder and causes issues. Or disable/exit OneDrive while Eso playing.

At the ingame addon manager (not character selection!) open the addons dependeny info by clicking the small triangle button at the left and read what is red. It should tell you the missing deoendency then and the needed version of it, if there is a version check too.

You can also use the addon Addon Selector to automatically enable dependencies for your addons if you enable any addon (as long as the correct version is installed).
The addon can also save addon profiles/packs for an easy switch between e.g. crafting, pve, pvp etc. (you define the usecase and pack contents).

I finally got a chance to go through this and do the things suggested.
    1. Screenshots do save in the same folder location as the add-ons, which is the same location as set in Minion
    2. I never have OneDrive active but don't know how to disable it. It doesn't show in hidden icons as active.
    3. I did check the add-on dependencies below the add-ons. The ones that show red (that I don't have intentionally disabled) say "Need newer version" so I checked the latest version on ESOUI to what's in Minion and they are the same. So they are the latest version.

So the only thing I'm not sure of is stupid OneDrive. When I looked up OneDrive settings, it says it will show in the taskbar or notification area if it's active and it doesn't show in either so I'd have to guess that unless I open it, it's not active. I use maybe twice a year to send someone a link to photos to share but do not use it for backup or storage.

    Did I miss anything?

Which addon is it that says newer version needed?
And which library/dependency is it asking for?

You seem to have an older version of that lib then or the addon's txt file is miss configured to ask fora never released version of that lib.

The screenshot I posted above shows the add-ons not working because of dependencies (red).
Under the add-on, in the list of dependencies, I've checked the ones that are red and they ARE the latest version, looking that up on ESOUI, so there is no newer version.
I'm wondering if I should just move all the add-on folders to another drive, uninstall from Minion or reinstall from Minion?
They are all common add-ons that should be not be a problem and I've been running them all for a long time with no problems until now.
I think I'll try to reinstall the ones that have red dependencies and, if that doesn't work, I'll uninstall and redownload them.

Well, I'm kicking myself I didn't try this first thing, but old brains just don't think as logically as they did when younger.
The reinstall fixed it. Sorry for all the back and forth, but you eventually pushed me over the thinking cliff to find the solution. Thanks for working with me to get it all working again.

Glad it worked out, sometimes the easiest try is the best solution, even if already tried before ;)
