It's not a bug. When they restructured the jewelry crafting grains/plate they also brought the writ rewards in line with the other craft areas writ rewards.

Lowest I have received for the new purple writs is 23 vouchers iirc.

Eight has got to be a bug surely???

Not a bug. Just like you get some really bad ones in Woodworking, Blacksmithing and Clothing, even at Gold level.

Yeah, this has to be a bug. It is purple and TRIUNE. Triune has always been on the high end of jewlery crafting. Nobles Conquest is also at 5 traits, so it is middle of the road. I see some people saying it isn't a bug, but you can also get writs worth 0 vouchers. Is that not a bug either? This is far below what I've seen from other purples even on the low end.

Edit : For context, jewelry writs vouchers are based on quality > trait item > set. I've seen new Jewlery writs that are triune with a crafted set that only needs 3 traits known that have a higher voucher reward. That should not be possible.

That's definitely a very old writ. It doesn't make sense even after the U40 conversion.

Maybe it does make sense, it's now 1/10th the value in vouchers roughly, but legacy writs pre U40 you could do at the new (better) mats costs for the legacy vouchers amount after the update. It's why I "hoarded" some.

I recall pre Update 40 that Purple Jewelry writs would get you 50(?) plus vouchers. The Blues got you 25 to 30.

Update 40 was the fourth attempt at rebalancing jewelry.

Original (Update 18) purples gave ~8, since ZOS thought the writs should have comparable amounts to the other crafts even though the mats required were many times what the others were.

Update 19 raised the values for purple (to ~20) and halved the upgrade requirements.

Update 23 introduced blues, and purples went up to your “pre update 40” numbers (at the high end, iirc - I seem to recall many purples lower than 170 from U23+).
