magblades: what's your favorite AOE skill?

so i have a slot open for a skill and i noticed i don't have an AOE skill and i prefer one that does DOT

i tried out soul splitting trap and sap essence (didn't like either) so now i'm looking at twisting path, deadly cloak, and maybe even scalding rune

oh and i dual wield since i hate staves

i can always try out the ones i've listed but i'm wondering what other magblades use :]

Power Extraction - frontbar, 30s minor courage and cowardice
Razor Caltrops - frontbar, if you dont have Major Breach
Twisting Path - backbar, high damage
Refreshing Path - backbar, if you need a HoT or sustain for you and your companion
Blockade of Fire - backbar, obviously 🙄

i totally forgot about lotus fan! i'm currently trying out twisting path and it's way better than what i was using before lol but i'm getting teleport strike next time i get a point

Twisting path is great because if you use concealed weapon while standing in the path, it procs major brutality, a 10% damage increase. If you don’t mind getting up close, it’s great.

Razor caltrops is also solid with the bonus of being a defense debuff and snare. It has a 28m range, so smashing a group with that and then elemental ring spam means you’re melting a lot of stuff before it even has a chance to say hello.

As a general aoe, I love elemental ring with the lightning staff. It has a 28m range and gets up to a 30% damage boost vs 6+ mobs. I’m not a meta build guy, but smashing a group of things for 25k from downtown is just a bad ass feeling. Power extraction is good too, if you don’t have the buffs. I used that before I got oakensoul.
