No purple coffers from dungeon bosses?

I just ran a Black Drake, and I got the expected gold box at the end, but neither Kinras nor Geminus dropped a purple.

I'll check later today, but according the the article (and every other event), they should drop boxes too.

...and also not seeing them from delve or world bosses either.

I got some from the daily quests and zone nodes, but that's it.

I got a purple from a world boss in Blackwood. So they are dropping.

I just checked the article and it said the final boss, but it did also say delve and world bosses for blackwood/deadlands so not sure why they aren't working

The OP just said "delve or world bosses"-- they didn't say whether it was in Blackwood or elsewhere. If it wasn't in Blackwood or the Deadlands, that would be why there were no coffers dropped.

PS: I won't be able to get on until this evening, but I'm guessing that "the Deadlands" refers to the DLC zone, and not to the little bit of the Deadlands on the other side of the Oblivion portals.

the "atoll of immolation" is considered part of the deadlands or blackwood (it has 2 different instances, 1 for each zone), but they function similarly to the public dungeon in the zone

I'm wondering about that, because I've only been getting boxes about half the time, even taking into account 5-10 mins being timed out of getting more boxes. Came back after an hour and got no boxes from the first two delve bosses, then got one from the third. Not a guaranteed chance, I guess.

I'm guessing like some other events,it's a chance at purples outside dailies,and final dungeon/trial boss.The wording is too general,though the looting of nodes,chests,safeboxes gives you the idea it's actualy chance.

Purple coffers CAN drop from mobs and bosses all throughout the event zones, but are not GUARANTEED to drop.

That is, they are subject to the cooldown, just as when they drop from resource nodes, treasure chests, thieves troves, psijic portals, and heavy sacks.

On the other hand, purple coffers that you get from the questgiver NPCs when you turn in daily quests ARE guaranteed.

i dont know about a cooldown, but it is for sure not a guaranteed drop

i was doing some light farming of the final boss in the atoll

sometimes i would only get a box from the boss itself and not the chest
sometimes i would get a box from the chest but not the boss
sometimes i got a box from both
sometimes i got a box from neither

It's interesting that you sometimes got a coffer from both the final boss and one of the chests. I'm not sure about cooldowns, either-- I just know that others have repeatedly said there's a cooldown-- but I'm thinking that maybe bosses and mobs have a separate cooldown counter from lootables such as resource nodes, treasure chests, etc.

I haven't gotten purple boxes from bosses all day today. Only from turning in dailies, makes the event kind of blah. I'll just be logging in to do dailies in Fargrave, since that's the achievements I need, and I'll log out. I am not going to waste what little time I have on a chance especially since it's a limited-time event.
