Blacksmithing - Heavy Armor - Templar or Dragonknight style?

When it comes to heavy armor crafting, I'm wondering what makes the difference if a piece will have the Templar or Dragon knight style? Is there anything I can do to make sure that the outcome will be DK?
Myself I'm a VR7 Nightblade with blacksmithing at 47, so not a DK nor a Templar.
I couldn't find an option in the crafting screen that makes an item look like DK or Templar, so what makes the difference? Is it completly random? Do traits or set bonuses affect if it's Templar or DK style?

The short answer is that DK and Templar styles do not exist. If you look at the armours they are actually identical just with different colouring. The thing that makes the difference in colours is the quality of the ore used in creating them as well as how upgraded they are (Legendary items typically look the best).

You can get a partial idea of how the armours look at:

The color of pieces of the same style is affected by material and level. Nothing else.
People usually claim that class does affect it because of the preview in the character creator, but as far as I know, it doesn't. I didn't test veteran armor though because only one of my character can craft veteran armor right now, but I tested low level armor up to lvl 34 and there was no difference.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

What do you mean with quality of ore? When I build a two chest piece out of quicksilver ore and both look different, where is a difference within the Quality of ore?

    e.g. http://i.imgur.com/0eV6t9v.jpg

When you have a look at the dunmer heavy armor, templar and dk are both heavy armor sets. I build 2 vr chests, one white made of quicksilver, it had the dk Colors. The same chest with the same vr build out of the same stack of quicksilver but upgraded to blue with better stats looked like the templar colors.
There is no difference in the Quality of ore, so why does it look different?
Does it mean that I have to build worse heavy armor with *** stats to get the dk colors?

There is no quality of ore, only quality of items. You upgraded the second chest to blue, which is why it looks different. Each upgrade will alter the appearance of an item.

The material determines the base colour for a grey level item. For example a piece of blacksmith armour made with say Ebon and Quicksilver will look different at a grey level. A piece of cloth armour will look different if made from Spidersilk to one made from Void Cloth.

You can then add upgrades which in some cases will further change the look of a piece. Generally the higher level you upgrade it the more pronounced the change will be. Upgrading to green or blue level makes very little difference on the base colour in my experience.

As for the armours in the picture that is linked I believe they are most likely legendary upgraded quicksilver and/or void stone (VR7-10) pieces for the Dragon Knights and legendary upgraded calcinium and/or galatite pieces for the Templars. It is hard to be certain however as I have never seen these armours in the game in that particular colour scheme and ESO fashion is more than a little incomplete when it comes to higher level armour.

    White armor has one color.
Green armor will generally be the same color only lighter or darker.
Blue armor is the same, darker or lighter than green.
Purple and Gold continue the trend.

There is no DK style or Templar style. If you take a hvy chest at whatever enhancement (white-gold) it will look the same on any class that equips it.

The "Templar" style is lvl 42-44 dwarven armour (unupgraded).

Not sure about the "Dragonknight" style though. I'm VR10 and it's definitely not Voidstone. I haven't seen it while levelling, and I crafted new armour every 2 levels.
I never improved my armour beyond "white" pre-50 though.
