It’s been ongoing for nearly a week, while doing overland, another dungeon, the Endless Archive, I’ll hear one of the Dusk Warden’s lines. I have NPC dialogue appear in my chat, so I have screenshots of it too.
Upon entering a wing of the archive, Soul of Dusk whispers: “A futile act by a futile creature.”
Upon reaching Tho’at at the end of arc 1, Soul of Dusk whispers: “Your kind works so hard to survive. Why?”
But his favorite line: “You will suffer for this indignity, mortal.”

I've been using it more recently and it's so enjoyable to hear those lines of dialog. I wish we had more bound items!2 -

✭✭✭✭✭i love that item and have never destroyed it, i end up having a copy of it on every toon because its considered unique and can only bank 1 lolplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

It’s actually possible to get two on one character by transferring one copy to a character who hasn’t done the quest and then running the quest on that character. Like the Pelinal scroll, the game will just shove a second copy into your inventory upon turning in the quest even though normally you can’t have more than one. It doesn’t check whether you already have one.1 -

Thank you! Now that I know, it seems obvious and I feel I should have figured it out! Somehow I was sure it had something to do with the Endless Archive, but only it that it prompted me to experiment with more tanky sets like Leeching Plate! Now that I know, I’m keeping this shield forever!
Mods, this thread can be closed or moved to wherever discussion of a dungeon set item would be appropriate since I was happily mistaken and this is not a bug — thank you!
