Holiday event but no tickets?

Just did the holiday event in blackwood to help the daedra. Was expecting event tickets at the end of all the running around you had to do... but nope. Am i missing something, or is this whole 'holiday event' thing just a waste of time?

... and I dropped the event-specific quest when I saw how many markers it had. The one for the Telvanni event was bad enough.

If you are talking about the quest that comes from the crown store, you do not get tickets for that.

the event quest is just for some gold and story

and they're always supposed to kinda introduce you to the dlc for if you're new.

they've never given tickets.

repeatable delve, world boss, and trial quests for the dlc event zones give tickets(world event quests too if the zones have them).

and defeating the final boss in the Flames of Ambition and Waking Flame dungeons too, which is a first for a dlc event.

This was a lot quicker than the Telvanni one because literally all you had to do was run up to the map marker, press 1 button, wait for the animation to end and then go to the next one. Even the one inside a delve was just inside the entrance.

Oh there's another stage after that where you stand by the guy who gave you the quest and periodically press 1 button to progress his spell. (For me the biggest challenge there is it was so crowded with players, companions, annoying flappy beasts. the inevitable person spamming an AoE in a desperate bid for attention etc. that I couldn't actually see what was going on, I just had to go around the circle until the prompt to push E came up.)

I like that they're starting to put more of a story and some unique quests into the events instead of just picking a map to grind, but I have to admit I was relieved this one was short because I wanted the endeavour for completing it on day 1 and didn't have much time to do it.

The part I didn't like about the Telvanni one is that it ended in a group dungeon. I'd done it on a low-level character with a mess of underlevelled equipment because I thought it would be a good opportunity to level her up (by the time I found out about the dungeon I didn't want to restart it all), so I couldn't get a group normally and had to ask some guild mates to run me through it. If I'd known it required a dungeon I'd have done it on a level 50 character.
