Stop it with the Stealth Changes - Necro Class Set

NO ONE LIKES STEALTH CHANGES. It feels really bad when you log in and realize that something that wasn't even addressed in the patch notes is now functioning completely differently.

The Necromancer Class set received a hefty nerf in the last incremental patch - yet nothing was listed in the patch notes. The set no longer has "Beautiful Corpse" as a buff - you now have to choose between using yourself as a corpse or getting the damage mitigation.

This makes the set completely worthless. You're always going to have a corpse consumer, so you'll have very little uptime on the mitigation/healing. Sacrificing an entire 5 piece set just to use yourself as a corpse is laughably bad. If you're gonna make bad changes, at least have the gall to own up to the changes in the patch notes.

Whaaaa? Can someone write out the new 5pc description? The set was already bad, nerfing it is pointless. The only time I think it’d be useful is only when OT has to use EC and can’t get the lightning tether aoe to sit under the boss for whatever reason.

Yeah I was actually farming the set and just saw the new description after arc 1:

Casting a Bone Tyrant ability while in combat grants you Death's Favor and for 16 seconds. increases your healing received and reduces Damage Taken by up to 0% based on your missing Health. This can occur once every 0 seconds, and is reduced by 2 seconds for each slotted Bone Tyrant ability.

Casting a corpse consumer ability consumes Death's Favor, treating you as a corpse.

So yes, heavy nerf. Better (or some) communication would have been nice.

i noticed the bugs with the display showing the 0%s and stuff, but didnt notice the other wording

the only reason i can guess is the nerf was for pvp

i agree though that this does not make sense for a class which is already struggling

so you either give up corpse consumption abilities to get the passive bonus, or you get yourself as a bonus corpse, it seems almost completely backwards for how your supposed to play the class

It's like Blazing Shield nerf. Has anyone even seen someone running around with that old shield build? But it still got nerfed. And I am sure all the people who want to break the game would've jumped on it if it worked with Aegis just like that Arcanist shield ult.

Didn't expect this nerf on Necro set. Dunno why it warranted a nerf.

Yeah I came here to write a thread about this. The necromancer class set was shadow nerfed in the update a few days ago, and they tooltip is also bugged now on top of that...really disappointed, the class is already suffering and these sets were supposed to be one of the main highlights of this patch

The more I think of it, the less I mind that they nerfed it. That punctuation error. in the tooltip will likely be there for the next couple of years, and if I actually used this set it would have bugged me every time I saw it.

When they announced the class sets I thought I have to force myself to play EA to get the sets. Now I enjoy playing EA and don't even care about the sets anymore. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

As a player with a Necro bench warmer..... I am not surprised ... at this point, my necromancer is taking up a slot that can be used by an actual character.... it isn't a main crafter, so no real reason to keep it. I do feel a little bit cheated on the time I did put in trying to get the set pieces I do have, but I am not going to maintain a useless character....

I was hoping that, maybe, we were going to see something that was actually playable... but it feels more like they just want to phase out the necromancer, and convince the few players left to abandon the class........

A couple of us have tested the set yesterday and found that the set seems not to have changed in function. The tooltip wording seems weird, but the set itself appears unchanged. I've tested it myself and found that the beautiful corpse effect is still in place, allowing you to use yourself as a corpse for a corpse consumer. Death's favor, which provides the damage reduction, remained in effect even after beautiful corpse was consumed.

Thanks for testing, but I still want a clarification from the devs. The tooltip says one thing, the set does another, I want to know which one is actually intended.
