Kicked off leaderboards

After last night's PC maintenance, all my scores on the EA leaderboards are gone. I'm worried I might not get gold mails today as it closes in an hour. Anyone else have this problem?

Have run into this on 3 different classes, as well as duos. Even cut a run short today to get in a leaderboard score before it closed. Never showed up.

Should have had 5 different leaderboard scores, but none are there anymore.

After the update this morning, I saw that the leaderboards (for the Endless Archive, at least) were nearly completely empty. I thought, surely, they have records of all the people who spent the past week running the Endless Archive, but now the only character of mine who has gotten a payout is the one character who I ran the Archive with today after the update.

They've got to make this right, there is no way they wipe out a whole week of leaderboards and ignore it, right? Leaderboards hasn't ever been something I was interested in until it was something I could competitively do alongside my partner.

I did a run today after the update and still nothing, pretty frustrating. I don't usually care so much about the leaderboards either, but it's fun to see progress in both solo and duos, and the rewards were a nice perk given the time investment.

Vanishing from leaderboard is not the only problem. Not even appearing there seems the bigger issue.

Had several runs too and only 1 was counting for the leaderboard.

In some cases my partner was showing in the list, but not me.

I have the feeling, that like 80% or even more are not showing up. In some class leaderboards you are top 10 with only arc 3 and that's not really hard to reach. Seems like the game have issues to convert the data correctly with all the players running the Archive now.

I think seeing progress on the boards is nice, too. Seeing my name on the board isn't my primary interest in making sure I play a different character (almost) every time I play the Endless Archive however, it's the payout that follows for doing well.

After introducing over 250 different pieces of equipment, scoring on the leaderboards is a great way to acquire some of that new equipment, in gold quality no less. The transmute crystals are even more important to me, however, because I really want to play with this new gear and it's really hard to measure how it performs against some of my existing equipment when it's in traits I don't prefer.

They absolutely have to make this right. They need to dig up those records and issue payouts. If they actually lost those records because they don't care or were careless, then they should simply award every character that stepped in the Archive this past week. People won't think poorly if they (or someone else) gets a payout they didn't earn, but I think a lot of folks, myself included of course, want our time and efforts respected and want the payout that was earned.

Yeah, my legion of alts didn't get anything.

Then again, I'm not sure killing one boss then exiting on a legion merits anything anyways.

We'll have to wait and see if the people that actually put in the work got the rewards or not.

My partner and I actually tracked our scores in a separate sheet to make sure we didn't repeat characters, and also just to see how well our various characters performed together while we enjoyed the long weekend.

I kid you not, the characters on the bottom are the ones we played today and got the payout for. So it's definitely not rewarding the ones who put in the work (so far).

We lost over three weeks's worth of PvP rewards and gold jewelry when they changed the Cyrodiil leaderboard reset from 30 days to the beginning of the month. And they never even acknowledged the uproar that followed. So, needless to say, we never got what we earned.

I have a feeling that this situation will be no different. I also ran several different classes through the archive in anticipation of the gold rewards and the stickerbook entries. But they've yet to even mention the situation.

I recall that, I don't normally do PVP, but if I recall correctly that was even following a Whitestrake Mayhem event so there was a ton of participation, myself included. I think, those boards were at least retained, they just prolonged all of the campaigns? So, they could perhaps argue nothing was "lost" just the reward was postponed and there wasn't incentive to continue to play for an entire month. I hated that then, and I hate it now, but hopefully they acknowledge that in this week's case scores were outright lost and will do something about it.

These leaderboard activities just aren't worth doing if you can't trust that any server maintenance or game update is going to wipe your scores. I sincerely hope that when the devs learn what happened after returning to work tomorrow and then they set on making this right.

Yeah they could have cashed everybody out after 25 days and called it a month, but they extended it to a 55 day campaign with 30 day rewards. A lot of folks were also counting on those Tier 1 transmutes to adapt to the new gear changes, but that didn't matter, either.

I am relieved I didn't waste time taking all my alts through EA last week. As it happens I only took my Templar (two runs - one solo and one duo) and my arcanist (lots of runs, 1 solo, rest duo) to EA last week.

It probably bears mentioning that I didn't get payout on PC NA. I believe EU had maintenance at the same time though.

I'm curious if leaderboards were affected in their server as well?

So the only four sub-options for character issues are:

    I am muted
    Character stuck
    Character stuck in combat
    Deleted characters

...How should we proceed for anything other than those four very specific situations?

All are silly but I'd try "I'm muted' because one could argue your character is "muted" from EA leaderboard.

Nevermind, I reread Lunar's post, whoops. Muted is the only option that lets you add time/date stuff so it does seem like the best option.

Leaderboards will be hotfixed tonight. Also confirmation that only the top 100 should be on the leaderboard.

So does that mean we shouldn't even bother with tickets if we weren't in the top 100?

It would be cool if there had been actual parameters laid out to explain who gets what, but I guess this is better than nothing.

How do we know if we were dropped off the leaderboards?

Do our scores just not show up, or do they not show up and not count at all? Meaning we'd have to re-run.

Bingo, had this exact thing happen on a run last week. 193000 was the score I think. My buddies showed up but mine didn't. While your tallying up the bugs... there is an auto death bug that often instant kills you on the trash rounds without any enemies actually hitting you. This seems to be able to happen whether solo or duo. A new round of adds will spawn and before they can even turn and run tword you to fight you, you are informed you have lost a thread and the trash pull instance resets. I am not sure if this can also happen when you are actually fighting the adds as it's not so easy to tell in such a situation if you have been bug killed or just died but I know it can happen before combat actually starts in both a solo and duo instance. Very inconvenient.

I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

@Sarannah, if you got a good score this week, and were on the leaderboard, you should retain that spot for the weekly until you get bumped out by higher scores.

Use my pictures for reference. I purposely chose to highlight the leaderboard for the update as it has been less than a week since we got it on Xbox.

Notice how my score is just gone. Normally, this would only happen when a new quarterly update is released, yet it happened a day after.

As far as will we be rewarded regardless, I doubt it, otherwise they wouldn’t be putting in the effort to try to fix it for people.

I had this happen with a run with my wife. We lost a thread, the mobs reset but nothing killed us. Not confidence inspiring to say the least.

Thanks for the info. Not that I would have made the leaderboards, but I did somehow in the first week... or maybe this bug was the entire reason I even made it on there. Ah, those infinite life's questions!

In fairness I don't think it's the players' fault that ZOS has made a terrible CS decision. I am sure they would also rather the issue was addressed at the next scheduled maintenance and actually be able to play ESO right now, than be locked out like the rest of us.

I think you'll find that most people discussing the topic don't really care about seeing our names on a volatile list either. For most folks, it's a novelty at best.

What we do care about is missing rewards when they're due, because a lot of effort went into getting them, and those transmutes are regrettably probably the most useful thing to come out of the archive.

I assure you. No one is happy about the severs being down.
