EA... marauder (and other mobs) disappeared, lost thread - both of us were alive.

The only thing I can think of is that marauders are on some kind of timer? I was on a Cro tank with an Arcanist DPS partner, had a marauder spawn and the DPS died; I had just colo'd the guy so i kited around the area so the AOEs were away from his corpse while I built ult for a necro rez; got the DPS up and we started to fight the marauder, but a few seconds later he just disappeared, along with all the other mobs that were up at the time, the area reset and we lost a thread, even though we were both alive... and it wasn't like we both got oneshot or something, we were both still alive.

Same thing happened to my run today while playing duo. No Marauder were present. But we have the taunt eye Verse. So maybe it is related to that verse but i do not know.

It was at arc 3/4 cycle 1, stage 1; so we didn't have any verses active, having come straight out of a Tho'at fight

I have had mobs go over the edge. Stuck in combat for about a minute or two and then I die.

I can confirm it happened to me and my partner too, fighting against a Marauder in the third arc. We were both alive, but the Marauder disappeared and we lost a thread. We thought it was a time-fight. I simply don't understand if it is a bug or it is intended.
