BLADE - vampire hunter

hi hello this is my second build im posting, you can see my brawler build at HISTDRINKER on the forums if you use the search function. Most of the gear is the same so its pretty easy to switch between.

5pc rally frontbar, precise axes (2 infused rings and well fitted sash)
5pc clever alchemist, backbar infused bow (well fitted gloves, boots, and reinforced greaves)
1pc torc of tonal constancy w infused trait
1pc gallant chain (trainee chest reinforced)
2pc balorghs medium well fitted

7 tristat glyphs
4 medium, 1 light, 2 heavy
2 reinforced, 5 well fitted
3 infused jewelry- potion CD glyph
axes MH shock, OH stam steal (for sunder)
Bow- power glyph

Front Bar
1)Merciless Resolve
2) Concealed Weapon
3) killers blade
4) healthy offering
5) Race against time RAT
ulti- soul harvest

Back bar
1) venom arrow
2) piercing mark
3) shadow cloak
4) resolving vigor
5) siphon attack
ultimate) swarming scion

consumables
I prefer Sugar Skulls, but jewels of misrule is also a good choice. For this build, use Immove + Detect potions with Columbine and Wormwood. You can add Chaurus eggs to make them stamina, or Cornflower to make them also restore magicka. any potion can be used, just be careful not to add buffs you already have.

playstyle
this build is focused on ganking. open with venom arrow but its also your range interrupt for those pesky arcanists and templars and sorcs. swarming scion helps you detects stealth players. most of this build is designed to help you find and kill other nightblades. That is why i call it the Blade build, because Blade is a handsome guy who kills vampires but he also is a vampire. I use stage 4 for this build so i can sprint and run and use RAT to escape, then i will automatically enter stealth and be extremely hard to get. That is also why I run siphoning attacks. If you choose not to go vamp, consider changing that since you will have more resources. With this build you have so much mobility i did not like using shade since you are out of range a lot and have to reposition. if you dont want to use gold jewelry, you are going to miss a lot of synergy with this build. this build requires you to drink a lot of potions. torc gives sustain, but often you need to rely on the occasional tripot to replenish your resources.

For a Vampire Hunter that hunts Vampires there is a lack of Silver and Fire in this build. Not that it's bad, but it doesn't seem to be actually taking advantage of the weaknesses vampires have (Bonus damage taken from Fighter's Guild powers, and bonus flame damage taken)

well the purpose of this build is to singe out nightblades, who normally tend to be vampires, it is effective at eliminating other classes as well. A fighters guild build could be adapted if you wanted to go stamina, or a crushing shock build could be implemented if you were interested in role playing more as a vampire hunter. i preferred these abilities because of their effectiveness against most players. An issue with ganking style play is you have to be very selective of your targets. in focusing on a silver bolts or a crushing shock build you are losing the ability to contend with melee builds. Trap beast could be considered, however this build is highly mobile and I dont think its very practical in PVP.

The weakness I'm focusing on is not specific to vampires, but moreso to Nightblades or players that rely on invisibility. Vampires benefit from invisibility, so generally speaking players who are invisible are vampires (not talking about stealth). The abilities I am using, Blood Scion, Piercing Mark, are abilities that I attribute to Vampire Hunters who are Vampires, like Alucard, Spike, or Blade. Using the powers of darkness against vampires, or Spy vs Spy with marking targets. Maybe that will help you understand the perspective that this build is focused on.

I see you're a DK, so for NB theres no class abilities with fire. Expert hunter could be used, sure, but Piercing Mark is going to give breach which is essential. FIre staff could be backbarred instead of bow, but you would need to get in Brutality/Sorcery somehow. However due to the changes in FIre staff, this doesnt make sense unless I switch to a DOT build.

I like the idea of Rallying Cry and Clever Alchemist, and it's not something you see that often on this class. The only thing I'd really change is get the armor loadout to 1light 1heavy 5medium since that really is the best loadout. Alternatively, since it looks like you'd be going harder on your MAG, you might prefer a 3light, 3medium, 1heavy build. You get a big pay off from the reinforced heavy chest, but more heavy pieces beyond that cost more damage and sustain than they give survivability.

awesome point dr nukenstien! I think you could defo go 5 medium, that would be the best payout for damage. I personally find the damage is there, so I like the armor. but the heavy armor does slow you down a bit. Im still so fast and bursty, I ended up going 3 heavy for survivability. I honestly think like you pointed out, you can kind of go with whatever works out! I found that most targets couldn't really handle HA + Merciless Resolve, I could usually go right into an execute (including tanky arcanist 1vX nerds). Most NBs are easily blasted away with Merciless+Killers Blade while i hold block and they pretend to gank me as i stay at full health (since both of those will heal). I found that surviving NB ganks was more important to me than ganking painintheaxe the dirty traitor gondor will never forget this treachery. especially because you can LA pain to death hes a nerd.

i have another build on here where I talk about my choice of clever alchemist (called HistDrinker), but I'm actually going to work on a new build where i trade Balorgh's for Perfected Spectral Cloak (time to pve grind), which is based on the cloak of infinite daggers that Jarlaxle has in R.A. Salvatore's series. Most of my builds have some sort of inspiration, whether its Argonian based lore, vampire lore, cool legendary dagger cloak lore....

My vampire hunter build during oakengank meta was Sentry, Oblivion's Foe, Oakensoul. When unaware hidden vampire is detected, walk up to them and cast soul assault... good times.

Not as many glasscanon blades now.
