The Witch's Festival is the best holiday event, and here's why

EvolvedMonkey97
You are rewarded for just playing the game normally. It breathes life into areas of the game that are usually dead, like public dungeons. Compared to other holiday events, which just give you a long string of fetch quests every day, The Witch's Festival is the only holiday event I actually go out of my way to participate in. We are way too deep into ESO now to expect a rework of the other events, but more gameplay focused rewards or avenues for rewards in general would be welcomed if they are ever looked at.

Agree. My elf's favorite pastime is hunting bosses so this event is just doing what she does best. :)

I personally vastly prefer the undaunted event since it coincides with set collection progression :) Big collection snob so i'm biased!

Witches' festival is nice for the double xp but the 7 million plunder skulls in my inventory giving me vampire furnishings are getting a bit old :D BUT - fantastic event nonetheless :)

I like Witches because I can bat out delve bosses in nothing flat. I don't have the ability to do WBs or dungeons, arenas or trials (old, bad reflexes, satellite mega ping....) so at least getting the delve plunder skull and doing delves I've never been in before is fun.

But once again, by the time New Life is over, I will be totally "evented out". I'm working on the last indrik I want this quarter - after that one's bought I have no idea about what comes next. I haven't been interested in the last couple of years' morphs....

Isn't the Anniversary jubilee the most profitable though? When you can do writs on 16+ toons you can really rack up those loot boxes faster than any other event. Plus, you get good materials rather than themed furnishings. Not to mention lots of style pages.

This is true - but it's stultifyingly boring. I haven't done writs on more than one character per account per server for a couple of years now. During Jubilee, I'll do writs on all my CP levels (11 across 3 accounts both PC megaservers), but by the second week.... I'm "writting" myself out, back down to one per account per server.

I've got so much in my craft bags after all these years I never run out of anything. And last year, all I really got in styles and motifs was stuff I'd already had - even on my "youngest" account. Sometimes RNG hates me....

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's event related.

    Thank you for your understanding

I LOVE the furnishings! True, I have more vampiric containers of various fluids than I know what to do with! But I LOVE the new Apocrypha furnishings and the ruby candleflies!!!

I also feel like the Witches Festival is the best event, because it encourages you to do seven different types of content:

    - Incursions (Fighters Guild Daily and/or Zone Dailies)
    - Public Dungeons (Mages Guild Daily)
    - Delves (Undaunted Daily and/or Zone Dailies)
    - Dungeons (Undaunted Pledges)
    - World Bosses (Zone Dailies)
    - Arenas (Repeatable Arena Quests)
    - Trials (Repeatable Trial Quests)

As indicated, there are various types of repeatable quests which can be performed (if desired) in connection with these types of content, and many players will be doing at least some of those repeatable quests as part of their normal daily gameplay, so for many players there's no need to choose whether to do the event's activities or do their usual activities. Even PvP players who prefer to spend all of their time in Cyrodiil can participate, because they can go kill delve bosses-- something many PvP players do anyway for the AP boost.

I like the variety of content you can do to get event tix and coffers, and just as importantly (to me), the thematic (Halloween/Hollowjack) elements.
I'm gonna be sad when the decorations are gone after tomorrow morning.
