Has anyone beaten the EA version of Zhaj'hassa the Forgotten? I was having the run of a lifetime and lost all three threads on this dude because I was getting one shot.

The pillar mechanic does not appear to be working correctly - even when standing behind the pillar the one shot kills you. Seemed really janky and felt frustrating to lose my run because of this.

I defeated him but he didn't last long enough to use the "hide behind pillars" mechanic, although I did have to cleanse.

the pillars most of the time worked for me, though there was 1 case i thought i was behind a pillar sufficiently enough but still got killed

other times have run into this boss it got burned down so fast didnt even need to do a cleanse phase lol

Once, I was behind the pillar and got killed. After re-spawning, there was no pillar to stand behind. One time, I was behind the pillar and it worked. So, idk. I do know that if they are going old school with the 3 deaths, this stuff needs to work. It sucks starting over because the pillar just wasn't there at all.

The last time I got him, a pillar spawned a the very edge of the arena, I managed to stand behind it somehow but still ended up getting one shotted and losing my final thread.

A lot of bosses need to go through QA again because some of their mechanics are a bit wonky to follow.

This boss I have gotten in arc 1 several times now and have only beaten him once.
The pillars don't work correctly or they spawn on the edge of the arena where you can't hide behind them. Not fair to get him early and that his mechs don't work most of the time.

I stand behind the pillar and take 35k damage, nearly 1shot. I'm in a full mitigation build.

The pillar doesn't seem to work.

Arc 1, first time nearly one shottet with 32k blocked, till next attack with 29k. Nice in trial but in Arc1?? Few runs later i fought him in full tank setup till 13% by dying two times. Got an 110k Shot. This is really what players like in an new free for all contend, Arc1.

My friend and I just encountered him, the pillar definitely doesn't work properly. Basically called it a night after losing all our threads to him toward the end of arc 3. Safe to say we both felt like we majorly wasted our time.

just encountered this thing in an EA and successfully failed the run. no idea what are u talking about guys, can u please elaborate how should it work normally? ive never been in a single trial

In VMoL, he has like 3 group wide attacks. He throws out curses which must be cleansed on the little circular pads. His "shield phase" is just constant pulsing damage until he gets dpsed enough. His pillars spawns on the person furthest from him. After 5 pillars, he does a group wide one shot for anyone not standing behind the pillar.

the only really bad part of this fight that ive experienced is that his attack to send out curses affects everything, including pets like the warden bear and companions

i was doing a solo run with my mag warden, using the bear and ember, and when he sent curses, i saw 3 orbs, 1 to me, 1 to the bear, and 1 to ember

obviously the bear and ember would die to the mechanic, at least the bear is easier to get back up

dont know if it has the same targeting with sorc pets

In the EA version this encounter is bugged.We've bugged it in game.

Three versions of fail:

1) The pillars don't spawn and you get one shotted.

2) One pillar spawns and one of the two players who tries to get behind it gets one shotted

3) Get behind a pillar and still get one shotted

This has ruined our runs twice, big waste of time

I have got this boss on later stages where he got a chance to do the pillar mechanic and that pillar protected me from that blast. So sometimes it works.

Same story but with the dragon (got it on the 1st arc, 2nd cycle). Three 47k hits ended my run.

Just had a run end thanks to the pillar not protecting me even though I was in a position where it would've worked just fine in MoL. Hope this is looked into.

coz i failed a fight, googled and found this thread, saw people talking about standing behind pillars, tried it and still got killed, so i thought im doing something wrong, but apparently it is bugged huh

We've hit this boss x3 times.
The first time there were no pillars. zippo.
The second time there was, and we just instant-died.
The third time we gave up trying to pillar, and tried to burn it -and died.

I suspect that the area to stand in is not actually exactly where the pillars are -due to being whumped by a number of aoes that didn't line up at all with the ground visuals, it's likely part of a wider graphical issue. Tentacles -Marauder sword -several large aoes are clearly not where shown ingame.

And this thread should be in bug reports, as players cannot magically go fix the code.

Ran EA a few times this morning first time died twice and beat it on the third try. The next few times I got the boss the pillar didn’t even spawn. Really frustrating and equally frustrating they moved this thread.

Same problem, got this boss on 4-4-3 level. I was not dead since begining i was still full lives...Got killed 3 times on this boss cause pillars don't appear. I take the decision : it's my last archive until next patch.
PS : i got videos and i made a ticket yes...

I've been happy with how fair and interesting most of the boss fights have been in EA, but some seem to have issues with 1-shots, especially untelegraphed ones.

I fought Laatvulon today and he does an ice breath drive-by from the air with no ground AoE indicator that was a 1-shot even in Arc 1. Without an AoE telegraph, you have to look up while killing mobs and avoiding spreading AoE : p

Some of these just need adjustments or telegraphs and would be fine like the rest of them

I was able to defeat him and he did the pillars mechanic. It was on arc 1 or 2; I don’t think that should make a difference in the pillars working or not, but just in case.

Just had him i think it was arc 4 cycle 3. all 3 threads lost. Pillars stopped nothing all 3 times. Managed to get him damn near dead, but just not quite.

For clarity, if anyone knows, does the explosion emit from the boss, or from center of the platform? It has been years since I did that trial, so it wasnt fresh in my head at all, but I did try behind the pillar from the boss twice, and from center stage once, neither seemed to work.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can we get someone to look at this? It was moved to Players Helping Players but it needs to be in bug reports. This boss is clearly messed up.

Had only 1 encounter so far, and the learning experience cost us 2 threads. The pillars seem to offer 0 protection when his shield is not removed in time. When we did the boss "by the book" it worked just fine.

By the book meaning:

when screen turns dark use glowing pad to get cleansed
stay away from pillars when not needed
focus damage on boss in shield phase
hide directly behind pillar in AoE phase

We put the pillar between us and the boss as well as away from the center of the platform. On loop 3 or 4 this AoE can be survived with 24k+ resistance and 40k+ health, but I would not recommend that approach.

I haven't seen the boss in the archive, but in the trial you need to be behind the pillar enough.so that you can't see the boss.

From what I've heard, it is in fact bugged.

Running EA Solo, got to fight him on the third round. Did not win. <sigh>
