I remember back in gw2 the LFG tool they had. Instead of queuing for dungeons by role (dps, tank, healer) people could queue by class/profession (theif, elementalist, revenant). As these have no specific roles due to hybrid abilities, specializations, gear, and builds. There was also no need to have exactly the max number of players in a party to successfully complete the dungeon. There was also no such thing as fake roles.
In gw2 lfg if a group isn't full there is an option to merge one group with another group. Then that reduces the waiting in queue time for both. Also there is an option to have auto invite enabled or disabled to reduce queue times as well or invite/wait for a friend to join.
Eso is kind of similar since people can choose their own builds and there are hybrid specializations, classes, and stuff. There aren't really specific or pure roles either. Someone could be a mix of a dps/healer based on stats, abilities, gear, etc. Then the dungeon lfg has people queuing by roles. Queue times are long, there are many who don't specifically fit their role, and then there's non stop complaining on the forums about it.
If eso had gw2 lfg system of queueing by class instead of a specific role, ability to merge groups, and has an enable/disable auto-invite system. Then fake roles wouldn't be a problem and neither would queue times.
Also do some rework with both veteran and normal difficulty dungeons so they can still be completed when the group is lacking in players. There could be an option to invite one extra person as well. A 5th player if group is struggling with just 4.
