Yeah but Khamira did that hiss thing to the dragon in the Elsweyr trailer, and for that cool moment alone, she wins all the things

Joking aside, it's the general fate of the Vestige to be the unsung hero behind all the adventures in Tamriel, and given the Vestige's dialogue over the years they seem kind of low-key and probably prefer things this way--at least that's my head canon.

She's a teenage girl being chucked at the throne like a frisbee. She CAN'T do a lot of the nitty gritty stuff because she has to stay alive as a rallying point for the rebellion.

And we are the VESTIGE. Who better to do the dirty work than what is essentially an immortal demon slayer?!

Um, hasn’t she been working with Lord Gharesh-ri, doing missions etc for the benefits of Khajiits & the Dominion?
And she does fight too.

(I mean, is this a serious post, complaining about the story of an npc in a quest line? Would you rather your character just sat back & watched her do it all?! 🙄)

Khamira actually does do stuff that the vestige couldn't do. She was also a competent and just ruler being put on the throne after a tyrant was uninstalled. Obviously the Khajiit would be happy to see a Khajiit back on the throne, and a good ruler at that.

Except the Dominion is in strong support of the Khajiit under a Khajiiti leader (even if mostly just to prevent them siding with any of the other alliances). They just don't want to divert any of their own forces to stop Euraxia (since she's no direct threat and also holds other alliances away).

From what I understood from the story, books, etc. the Khajiit never really accepted Euraxia nor would they accept any other leader from the outside. Euraxia could only stay in power because she held the broad population hostage. Khamira and her Rebellion tried working around that, since they also knew all too well that Euraxia couldn't really push through with her threats as killing the population would have been the end of her control, too. It was a kind of stalemate in slight favor for the Khajiit (until dragons showed up).

And even if the PC is a Khajiit, it wouldn't make sense to even attempt this: Khamira is a direct heir to the throne and the whole Khajiiti society at the time of ESO is built around these long standing dynasties dating back to the original 16 tribes. There'd always be a significant amount of people considering the PC just being yet another Usurpator put in place.

ok but theres a tiny gap of land between northern and southern elseweyr and so what about that already?

I truly love this game to include the "tongue-in-cheek" moments.
