Make grim focus glowing effect only appear at 5 stacks

Permanent red glowing is super annoying. There is no single person who would enjoy it. If it will only be visible at 5 stacks it's a win/win situation because 1) No more annoying permanent glowing. 2) It will be visual indicator that you've got stacks. Same goes to sorc's bound armaments. Or at least make it only appear when you have 1 or more stack.

make it go away completely. theres no reason for it at all. it provides no effect that i find useful to me in pve or pvp and it breaks quite a number of armor pack effects. this glowing effect is the worst!

Well, there are some who've posted they like the permaglow. Not sure how many, but then I don't use the skill, and I don't really play the NBs I still have.

welli may have overstated it a bit there are effects that are worse. chokethorn healing glows suck and takes up a lot of screen space and makes it hard to see. arcanist swirlies greens is the worst, followed by artic winds effects an d maybe chokethorns healing green glow as 3rd.?

side note, the kalopi flower effect is kinda nice..

even so, i dont like it. it's a give away. i consider it a cheat. like the swirling balls from some armors. i dont like announcing everything i have planned.

dont like the flashy rides either. things should have a utility to them. permaglows and flashy effects have no utility to them. none i appreciate anyway.

You have to use that skill if you wanna be competitive. The whole rotation revolves around that skill. You'd gimp yourself severely.

I can’t stand it and won’t use it until ZOS fixes this horrible visual bug. So it’s play gimped or don’t play nightblade at all, but yeah, not going into PvP nor endgame PvE like this, but I can collect flowers still, at least that hasn’t been nerfed.

Um. I'm NOT competitive. I play solo. I don't do any group content.

It looks neat with certain weapons that have their own glow like Prior Thierric, Gloambound, and the Opal stuff.

It looks terrible with Gloambound in particular. You literally have floaty orbs around you when sheathed. On the weapon pack people specifically use to not have anything when sheathed.

Sorry, a few people liking specifics simply carries nowhere near the same weight than enforcing it on everyone else who doesn't.

I like it too. It could be toned down a bit if it bugs some people, but it should not be removed imo.

    Remove it completely.

This is what I dislike about it (other than the perma spotlight).
I paid for an arms pack with a specific look. It no longer looks the same.
I can appreciate some like it, I do not.

The solution for people enjoying it is an actual glow cosmetic, not forcing everyone else to either tolerate it or accept that they won't be playing their nightblades in any relevant content anymore.

You see, this was implemented so that a certain user turned dev would die less in PvP on his bowblade and not miss his combo because of visual cue. If the glow is permanent, no one can tell when it has 5 stacks.

Okay, I will take off my tinfoil hat now.

It is most likely quite much more simple - ability gave glow when active (to signify it's active and que you when it runs out) - but when implemented to be permanently active, devs did not think of altering the behaviour - which is mildly weird considering that very similar ability - bound armaments had purple glow around the chest to mark it was active, and this glow was not made permanent but removed instead. The only other difference being that armaments had additional visual indicator for stacks, and those are still there.

In my opinion that I will want to repeat in here, for nothing else than consistency of visual design in virtually functionally identical abilities - the visuals of grim focus should be reworked to not include permanent indication of skill being slotted, and have instead added visual indication of stacks being present.

People who like the glow should be able to keep it. But those of us who do not like the permanent glow should have some means of disabling it or, at least, hiding our weapons altogether.

The glow looks pretty bad on a bow to the point that it is very distracting when positioned on my back. Gaudy even. The permanent glowing daggers also ruins the vibe as a thief and assassin who are, by nature, supposed to be subtle. (Don't go near the guy with the red glow on his waist, he'll suck your blood and steal your pocket lint!) In either case, limiting the glow to only show while in-combat would be a fine compromise.
