A Witches Festival Story
Long ago in Nirn there was a race of Frost Giants that crafted the strongest weapons in all of Tamriel. Their tempers were worse than trolls and they had blacksmithing skills beyond those of any Dwarf. They were a fearsome group to behold. In a raging tantrum one Giant could cause an avalanche and destroy a village. When we were not at war with them, we were buying their spectacular weapons. Throughout the wars only five Giants were known to have survived. They stole the Snow Elf Paragons from the shrine of Auriel and were later slain during the Third Century. All of Tamriel believed the Giants were gone for good and once again became absorbed in their present conflicts giving the Giants little thought. Some even claimed they were a myth.
What they didn’t know was that 7 Frost Giants hid themselves away within the icy mountain cities their ancestors had built. The Giants discovered that Magnus had appointed the Nixad as secret guardians of Aetherius magicka and gave them the ability to travel between Nirn and the immortal plane. Enraged by envy the Giants began to creep unnoticed among the hills at night consuming the magicka from the Nixad hives that were high in the treetops. As they devoured the pure aetherial magicka it changed them, they morphed into what the Nixad call Eistla “The glowing ones”. They no longer resemble the Frost Giants of old. Their bloodlust for magicka is unquenchable. They mutated as the magicka and revenge cursed them to absorb the horrific abilities of other evil creatures. Stolen away in secret the race of Frost Giants has once again become strong siring several new generations of these “glowing ones”. They are seeking to enslave the Nixad and want an unending supply of magicka. They will devour anything or anyone that gets in their way. They are drunk with power, revenge, and plan to conquer all the lands within Tamriel. The Nixad have tried telling every traveler they’ve met that the Giants were not destroyed but were met with little more than disdain and used as fishing bait. With nowhere else to turn the hive scouts went to the Dark Brotherhood; knowing that they could pay these mercenaries to investigate this matter. Tawny Hawthorn and many loyal to the Sithis have been protecting the Hive leaders. The animosity between the Brotherhood and the Frost Giants hasn’t waned. The Brotherhood is trying to prevent a full-blown war in Tamriel. Tawny and Queen Elding (A shock Nixad) have traveled a long distance to see Jupiter Sterling a witch in Shadowfen who has second sight and reveres the brotherhood. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize they had been tracked by Gyrmir. The cursed magicka coursing through his thick blue blood began to glow as he came closer to this hive queen allowing him to track her every move. Jupiter knew they were coming and in hopes of keeping them safe turned her cottage into a Jacko lantern hoping to ward off this evil Giant. Even with these precautions, we must warn everyone and prevent the enslavement of these aetherial guardians, or we will all have to battle the Eistla. Their regenerative powers are unmatched, but they are still susceptible to fire damage just like their ancestors. Always carry a torch or your witch’s bonfire with you and be on your guard. Above all enjoy the Festival!
