  • First off if Zos feels this is a violation of terms for the forums I fully understand and support deleting/removing/closing this thread as this is not the reasoning behind this post. I'm hoping if this type of post is not allowed, it is simply removed/whatever and I'm not hit with an infraction as that is literally not what I'm trying to get from asking this question in a post.
  • Secondly I wasn't sure which section of the forums it should go under because it is technically not a post related to specific items in the crown store or necessarily offerings in the crown stores but more of a general question about ESO.

OK so since the whole gifting crown store items has been restored It's got me wondering about what is a generally acceptable amount to charge/get charged for crowns used to purchase items in the crown store. Its actually been quite a while since I've been on either end of that gifting crown store items transaction. Only asking because if or when I decide to request a CS item or offer to gift someone a CS item this way, I kinda want to make sure I'm not greatly undercutting the accepted rate or paying vastly over what's "normal" prices. **This is for prices on PC NA server just in case this gets moved or was posted in a general section of the ESO forums**

Yes we all know including Zos that people have used their crowns to sell (via being paid gold and using the gifting of crown store items) items in the crown store to players for gold (and vice versa) with legitimately purchased crowns that were not used/obtained in an exploitive or dishonest method.

It varies hugely by platform and also depends on server. There is no fixed rate. Crowns on TCE were 1800:1 as of yesterday (that's for PC with a broker), while a console player today said that crowns were 100-200:1 there instead.

You can check zone chat for your respective platform and server to get a feel for what people are asking.

Historically on PS, crowns were traded at 100 gold per, not sure if they went up at all in the period before trading was stopped.

My view was always that this was way too cheap, but I guess if you're a long-term player with ESO+, you could have a lot of crowns stacking up and the gold could come in handy.
    Australian on PS4 NA server.
    Everyone's entitled to an opinion.

before the whole gifting thing, on PCNA the price for crowns was around 1200-1500g each

zos has clarified that selling crowns for gold is not against ToS, but it is also not "officially" endorsed/supported and leave it as buyer beware

Thank you for that response. I thought I remembered that they were neutral on it and, as you said, buyer beware but I wasn't 100% on that. I was mostly covering my own behind with that disclaimed on my post because I did have that 1% doubt on if it was against the TOS or not or against the rules on the forums to discuss this topic of pricing. I didn't want to get zapped for an honest curiosity or ignorance on the matter.
