Can the animation of the legs be reworked to be more "natural"?

I don't know about you, but the animation of the legs is certainly one of the things that shocked me the most about the TESO game. It's not visually clean and even the sound is unbearable, but especially the animations, it's frankly horrible, it's only TESO where it shocked me to such an extent, wouldn't it be possible to rework this, to have something more "natural"?

I really hope that this can be reviewed to have something more visually pleasing!

Hoping to have been heard about it!

Funny, i just noticed the other day that when we stand still, our legs aren't straight. we stand bent kneed. Weird design choice.

    And don't mention the horses...

I've definitely noticed it with mounts at high speeds.

Horses, elk and Indriks look strange when galloping at max speed. Luckily, Senche, Ornaugs and wolves actually look smooth even with all upgrades, so prefer them
You have discovered the thirty-seventh Sermon of Vivec, which is a bending of the light, long past the chronicles of the Hortator who wore inconstant faces and ruled however they would, until apocalypse.

How can you not pay attention to animations? They are like 90% of what you see ingame. Where else do you look?

Could be much worse. In another MMO I play, your character's legs do not have moving animations at all when using abilities, making your character look like they are awkwardly sliding around in combat.
I much prefer what ESO has going on.

It looks to me like they just speed up the animation, and the speed is faster than the animation can really pull off and still look realistic. Makes it look like one of the black and white movies where they change the film speed to make things look faster.

But... I never noticed anything with the character leg animations. What are people seeing? Tell me, so I can't unsee it!

it's far from being an old game, and even older games don't give off this strange aspect when a character runs, teso, there's a whole thing that feels too fast, as if someone had pressed an accelerator button, even the sound isn't right. This detail could do with some work.

Lol, not sure if you're talking about FFXIV but I know that happens in that game and it is very.... well, it's something. My ninja definitely looks like the ultimate breakdancer the way she be sliding around the battlefield.

I've never noticed bent knees when standing straight in ESO, but maybe it's because of the personality I've been using for years. I know the character models definitely stand bent at the knees with staffs equipped though and it looks pretty goofy, especially the restoration staff. I'd say all of the weapon idle animations are pretty bad though and I do think they could use some love.... but sadly that's not something Zenimax gives out much.

I think the reason they don't stand straight up is because if you do that and lock your knees it restricts blood flow. You all leave your characters standing for minutes if not hours on end sometimes, and they can pass out if they aren't careful.

This was something I learned from junior ROTC during our inspections, and when we stood in that auditorium the instructor kept telling us to not lock our knees lol.

My templar would like to have a word with you about the jabs animation, and that word is : NO.

The LAST thing we need is more animation changes. Every single animation change they have done has been absolutely godawful.

Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.

    And hate it.

Drawing characters so they look realistic should not get suprising changes. People stand straight with straight legs when they stand. Horses have legs..... like horses.

I don't want ZOS touching my characters or any of the animations. The things they've already done are bad enough.

This is the reason why I can't bring myself to fully upgrade speed on many of my toons (especially my roleplaying ones).

It looks WAY too weird for horses. I don't mind going to places at a slower speed as a result, so long as it doesn't look horrible.

If we ever get "account wide horse training" I would absolutely hate it unless there was some way to decrease the mount speed (de-train them, so to speak) just so that my alts don't adjust my main's speed of 40 to 60 and force me to see/hear the bad animation all the dang time while on my main.

I don't like it, but it is what it is.

If we do the legs they need to do the back. Every character turns into the hunchback of Notre Dam when weapon is out.

They don't look like horse legs. But when fixing it, they just need to be made to look like horse legs. And so the results shouldn't be weird new surprising animations.
