I'm surprised no one is talking about the loading screen for Apocrypha... it seems very suggestive if you see what I see in the images. :#

Is this like an ink blot test?

There are a lot of "hidden" images in commercial art. Common marketing practice. The documentation is extensive. Check out the books by Wilson Bryan Key.

    Funny...

Ain't nobody complaining about this Eastmarch loading screen, which has been in the game forever, and it's in the same style as that Telvanni Peninsula one...

There's nothing wrong at all with the Telvanni screen (nor this Eastmarch screen), and they should stay right where they are.
There's room for many artistic styles here. Art doesn't NEED to be homogenous.

As of the latest PTS update, the Telvanni Peninsula loading screen was changed once again. This time, it appears to be based on the rendered image that can currently also be seen on Login Screen and the ESO website:

New loading screen from PTS 9.1.4:

Rendered image without characters (taken from the website):

First time I saw it, I thought something happened to my screen, it looked all high contrast and blurred.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this! That looks very beautiful  and looks inviting into the zone.

I just logged into the PTS to check it out myself. Now that you mention it, the blues and the high contrast could be toned down a bit. I think in the main login screen, it's very zoomed in, so maybe the resolution itself isn't enough, so it looks a bit extra blurred.

However, I do love the image itself and the scenery though. The vast mushroom valley and the viewpoint looking at Necrom city towers.

They have birds there? To be fair TESIII just barely included small, harmless animals.

There is an obvious filter on the current image. It would really behoove that artist not to lean on filters and trust their own brush work. I think there's a nice painting under there but the filter makes it tacky.

EDIT: If I were to have another criticism, I think the foreground figure is distracting. These foreground figures in some of the paintings seem to be a device for the player to immerse themselves in the environment, but I'm never a fan of them because they detract from the landscape.

I didn't like the Apocrypha one very much. That zone is far more beautiful and exotic than the picture suggests. I love those tomeshells, but I find having one so much on the foreground, taking up so much space, doesn't help.

Unfortunately, I can't see what's so suggestive. The artist even went light on the tentacles!

Googled this because I just noticed they changed it during the event and I wondered if anyone had screenshots of the old one or noticed at all. The new one is better.

The old one was strange: it did not match the art direction of other new zone (& game wide) splash screens and VERY obviously had a grungy canvas-like texture on top that made it look filtered. I always wondered about it when Necrom launched: what happened there? Was there a crunch situation?

But now it's even more of a mystery; seeing the PTS one again - that was great. How odd.

The old one was changed long before the event. I don't remember when specifically, but it's probably been a couple of months now.
