Do jewellery crafting surveys & or platinum dust refinement now or wait until after update 40?

As per the title I'm just wondering if I should
a) do any jewellery crafting surveys before update 40?
b) if yes should I refine my platinum dust before update 40 or wait until after?
c) if yes should I refine resulting grains before or after update 40?
I get the basics behind the update - what the system will be and what will happen to what you already have in your inventory/craft bag, I'm just unsure what would be the best thing to do to have as many possible upgrade plating's after the update.
If every jewellery grain will become a plating after the update, then it seems like it would make sense to acquire as many as possible via surveys/harvesting & then refinement of platinum dust, before the update?

✭The result is the same if you refine now or after, so it doesn't matter unless you're trying to sell them right now for a profit before the patch because the price of plating is dropping.

Okay thanks, I like profit but I'm not really lacking in funds currently & would just like to have more upgrade materials so I can upgrade more of my jewellery as I have 14 characters in total & only a few set pieces upgraded to gold quality.Edited by daemondamian on September 25, 2023 4:53AM0 -

The patch notes only mention the 1st stage being fixed as a bug. Nothing about putting 20/30/40/50 points in and having that "increased by 10%"
Unless somebody has done statistically relevant testing on the PTS to see if 50 points in plentiful harvest is returning 50% instead of the 40% it has been. I haven't seen it posted here yet.
Edit 2: I actually tested it on PTS... the fix to the 10-point stage appears to have fixed the issue at 50 points as well. Would be nice if patch notes reflected that.

Techwolf_Lupindo✭✭✭In another forum post, this was tested on PTS, The bugfix did increase it from 40% to actually 50% as the tool tip says. So it did affect all stages.0 -

Yes, I did test it.
Imagine if the patch notes were actually clear and accurate so we didn't have to test to see if others were changed.
