PLEASE FIX GAME CHAT ON XBOX!!
I pretty much cant take this much longer, its at the point people dont even want to try to use voice chat! This game is my ONLY FORM OF SOCIAL INTERATION, and that also applies to about a dozen people i know also. YES you can use party, but party involves invites ... guild chat is an open chat for people to join willingly and leave willingly without invite... PLUS an MMO IS A GAME WITH A SOCIAL PLATFORM .... (( or at least a dead one in the case of ESO))

I'm not gonna bug support about this, I only contact them when it's some problem specific to my account they can actually help with. All I'll get is "delete your game save data".
Like I said no one even tries to use game chat because it's so broken and has been since I started on xbox over a year ago. Playstation has problems too but they're rare.1 -

its not only effecting some, it effects everyone, people gave up with eso support because of the original generic email reply and in my opinions "guessing" at your issue and giving a completely non related fix... vs replying to the ticket, and asking more questions to help etc.... its a broken system thats deeply effecting the game

This statement is fairly concerning as it seems to show that the Dev Team really has no idea of the scope of this issue after all this time. This Chat bug has been impacting EVERYBODY on XBox for well over a year, and perhaps close to 2 years now since the new chat system came out to support Console Enhanced. All the people I know stopped submitting tickets long ago since nothing has been fixed or even acknowledged until now.
The only way most people are able to clear this bug that shows chat as being unavailable is to completely quit the game and restart the game fresh. The problem seems to steam from "quick resuming" ESO that has been in an idle state in the background but not completely closed out which appears to cause it to not properly synch the chat channels upon entering the game.
Unfortunately, as stated above, many have just given up on in-game chat and don't either know they have to hard quit the game and restart to get it back or they decide it not worth the time and revert to XBox Party as a chat alternative. As mentioned, Party Chat has significant limitations and barriers to open socialization. When properly functioning, ESO's in-game chat system is the Console's best feature compared to other platforms. A reliable voice chat system is absolutely core to the social aspect of ESO and making it both an enjoyable and true MMO experience.

Since i posted this ive had great change in in game chat availability

Alot of people ive asked since have tried game chat and still got the error when they click to see the guild channels+ area channels... you guys are one the right track but i feel untill game chat is fixed AND THERE IS AN ANNOUNCE MENT MADE ABOUT IT!!! Text chat is great but people hide behind their words ALOT and it allows them to be toxic, cruel and just plain ignorant, voice chat made people own their cruelness so tho it still happened it was alot less then it is now... VOICE CHAT ON XBOX CONSOLE NEEDS TO BE FIXED... as explained online:
"Using the built-in console systems, PS4 and Xbox One players can chat with other players in-game as long as they have the appropriate peripheral, such as a headset. There are a number of different chat channels that can be joined, each of which can be muted individually. You can choose to speak in any one channel at a time, or choose none to just listen to other players. You can listen concurrently to Area chat and any one other channel."
^^^^ this shows it is an Xbox issue ? ive talked to a few PS players and they say there is no issues, and if there is its rare? .... Progress has been made but can we please send in tickets if your chats not working ? ( showing error in photo included )
Remember if you dont send in the ticket thru the website you only have about 40 characters give or take to explain the issue, i suggest putting key words, no sentences as all emails received have some sort of algorithm? set up that sends a automatic reply based on what it perceived the message to be pertaining to. If you dont reply to this message the game/ZOS ((IMO)) consider the issue resolved, so please try to remember to reply to any ticket you send in about any issue, because 7/10 times the automatic reply message is wrong or doesn't help.... i really wish our 1st ticket submission went to an actual CSR vs a computer.... maybe more people would feel ok with submitting a ticket?

Not to call devs out, but this has been a three-year issue that has been reported multiple times.
Taken some time is a gross understatement.
And this doesn't only affect some players. It was affecting my whole guild. It's a big part of it becoming inactive.

its been highly damaging to MANY guilds, i now know of zero social guilds.... the games toxicity has skyrocketed beacuse people only converse in text chat and that gets bad....fast
