At the Master Writ vendor after the update, some items now have a red circle with a slash through it symbol by them. What does that mean?

PS5 NA. GM of The PTK's - a free trading guild (CP 500+). Also a werewolf, bites are free when they're available. PSN = DragonRacer13

I believe it means the item can't be sold to this vendor.

That’s confusing because it’s the “buy” screen at the Master Writ vendor. Not selling him anything.

I saw this too when I was buying the new Cyrodil style pages.

Is it designating that the item is bind on pickup from the vendor? Seems to be the common thing for where I was seeing these last night.

I wondered that as well, but the symbol is next to one of the gold crafting books but not the other gold crafting book, next to normal crafting stations and attunable crafting stations, next to diminished aetherial dust. Which are all things people have bought to sell in guild traders in the past, so if those are now changed…

It was also next to basically every furniture “gamble box” on his assistant which, yes, you cannot trade/sell the furnishing portfolio (never could before either), but once you open it and get the furnishing plan, those are still tradable/sellable as before. They’re the only thing with that new symbol that I bought today.

@ZOS_Kevin any input on new mystery symbol?

Plus, it’s NOT next to the storage coffers, which I know for a fact are bind on pickup.

And next to the research scrolls, which at least used to be tradable/sellable.

    I’M SO CONFUSED

Hi all, this is a new symbol to show when an item cannot be sold to a vendor. Here is the line from the patch notes, "Vendor windows will now display an icon indicating items that cannot be sold."

However our team has identified a bug where the symbol is showing up on the buy page and is not working as intended. It is meant to only show up on the sell page. We are working to get this bug fixed and will update when we know a timeline for fix implementation.

Awesome, that makes sense and it being on the “buy” screen was what threw me off. Thanks for the quick answer!

Fixing the bug so that it doesn’t show up on the buy screen would be an improvement, but I still say this is unneeded and is visually cluttering up the UI.

Can we have an option to disable this?

It’s not needed at all. I agree with others that it’s un needed. If it can’t be sold it doesn’t go thru simple as that.

Why even show items who can not be sold? Stolen items don't show up after all.
Now showing containers makes some sense, so often I forgot to unpack lancers or you keep containers as you should save them. Like the IC quest reward box as it give an token daily or event boxes with an daily chance of getting an outfit style.
And showing them then trading reminds me of them.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Thanks for the feedback here. We’ll pass along the feedback around the sell UI to the team for their consideration.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's asking the community for assistance.

    Thank you for your understanding
