Lorebook addon? (Minion alternative)

First time using addon mods. YouTube recommended minion addons but they seem out of date already or showing as disable so I’m guessing they out of date at the moment.

Is there an alternative to minions standard lorebook finder ?

I do not use Minion, so not sure which version number of Lorebooks it makes avalible.

The most recent version of Lorebooks is 74 last Updated: 08/28/23 06:55 PM

    I update my add-ons manually.
Just go to the add-on creator website ESOUI.COM you can search for all the add-ons and even submit bug reports directly to the authors. Each add-on page has a change log and a other files listing with older versions of the add-on in case of a game breaking bug. Each page also has links to any other add-ons or files needed for the add-on to function correctly.

Minion is a utility app that automatically installs and updates addons from the ESOUI.com website. Minion doesn't actually create the addons, individual creators do.

Many addons have dependency addons that also need to be installed in order for them to be activated. I've highlighted in the below image where you find the dependency addons that need to also be downloaded and installed in order to make the Lorebooks addon work properly. And if you choose to manually download addons instead of using Minion, you'll need to manually download all the dependent addons too. Hope this helps.

It fairy simple to do manually. SEE HERE for instructions

I personally like to do it manually as I can go back to a previous version if needed. Also its one less application that has control over file structure of my PC.

Going back to another older version is always possible, even if you use Minion, as you have to do that manually anyway.

Minion is just a helper so you do not have to manually check and update your addons and libraries. Depending on your addon count this could become 20 or more manual zip extractions and deleting old folders and files, each day/week (addons can update any time to fix bugs so you should keep an eye on updates. Doing this manually needs time.).

It's totally up to you how you do it but you won't get any support for old addon versions, if you notice bugs. So always make sure they are updated, and as addons in combination could fail to work or throw errors you should keep all of them updated ;)
