The U39 update to Destro Staff Arcane Knowledge states that equipping a lightning staff Increases channeled and direct damage abilities by 6/12%
Fatecarver is a channeled ability, yet equipping a lightning staff does not increase its damage.

How did you test? Fire and lightning staff give the same bonus to this skill, as this skill is considered DOT and also Channeled, if you tested using these two staffs, the damage will remain the same.1 -

It sure requires a hell of a lot more aiming than any other dot than I am familiar with. 😐0
